jc2's story was just a few barely passable, ultra-cheesy cutscenes that served as a framing device for the over the top action
Uh, I thought the only purpose of Just Cause 2 was to run around the Island for a while before going back to blowing crap up.
Call me crazy, but this can turn out nice.
Just Cause is fun (mostly) because of all the mess you make. Action movies are fun because they make plenty of mess.
I only hope they will at least have a cameo from "Bolo Santosi, the leader of the revolutionary army known as The Reapers". Her missions = best part of the story.

Just Cause's story blew ass. The only fun thing about those boring ass games were just randomly running around and blowing shit up.
Really, the only story in Just Cause 2 was everyone's hilarious accents. Seriously, they're part southeast Asian, part South African, and part Jamaican.
As long as they nail the terrifying accents, really, they could tell a story about Rico Rodriquez as an ice cream truck driver and it would be canon.

If I had played JC for the strong character and story, I would have been sorely disappointed. They were fun games, but Rico's character is little more than "angry Antonio Banderas impersonator".
Am I the only person that sees that this could be a great movie? It wont be because the people making it will totally miss the point, but still. The starting sequence to one of the Austin Powers films shows him flipping out of a car and akimbo machine gunning a helicopter in the air before landing back in the car or something in that vein. If they embrace the fact that the entire notion of reality is a farce, they could have some fun with a spoof-spoof-spoof spy film with rediculous action and even more rediculous, hyper-real characters.

Part of the original Just Cause was filmed in my hometown. Got to meet Sir Connery on my way to go rent SNES games.
