When Rey Guitierrez asked me to do some video interviews at E3 I was worried, mainly because cameras make me nervous and I assume everybody will hate everything I say. Turns out people actually liked them, so I figured, what the hell? Let's try and do some more.
Hence, The Jimquisition, a series based off the unedited, unscripted, low-budget opinion-spilling of the E3 videos. Just some fat twat and a microphone talking about whatever's pissed him off this week.
So this is the first episode, all about people who accuse games of ripping off other games. I managed to accidentally record a phone on one side of the camera, but otherwise I think it came out pretty well. It's all meant to be filmed in one take with little-to-no production, very much like our E3 coverage. I may invest in some good lighting though if the video is deemed successful.
Note: The aspect ratio is weird on this video because f*ck all video editing programs, ever. I will reupload it if/when I get the video looking better. Although frankly it's already taken ten billion years to get this far with a video that was supposed to be good because it required no f*cking around. How wrong I was.
Anyway, would you like more of these, and what are your views on the subject at hand?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
@Gaidenrider - Do note however, that Jim tends to heartily thrust his name only into words where it already fits seamlessly. Jim-Box 360 does sound hilarious though.
It's all the glasses.
More pictures little less Jim, and it is set. Like draw a Crayola style character to represent you instead and have it doing stuff like pissing into an ice tray. TOTAL WIN.
Having said that, I enjoyed The Jimquisition and would watch more.
But great video, Jim. Hope this becomes a somewhat regular thing.
But it's funny but I never expect you to have this king of voice. And I still can't pinpoint the accent...
Also if you were trying to render in HD whilst maintaining your aspect ratio using Sony Vegas (which is an almighty arsehole of bitch) the only format it'll do it in is WMV, unless you upgrade to super mega expensive butt rape edition.
I have a roommate that tells me weekly how many games copy Devil May Cry... WEEKLY...
Yes I rather do get a good chuckle, reading those fanboy comments, there should be more Fanboy Fridays, just cause I'm tired of reading every comment to see if they make a fool of themselves *shot*
/removes tongue from cheek
Pretty good the first in a series. Hope you don't go through the same hell you went through getting this up however often you do this though.
Jonathan Ross was the editor who ran Fanboy Friday, and he announced a while back that FF was going on an indefinite hiatus. It doesn't look like it'll be coming back any time soon.
antisonybias
Lmao at the ending!
Either you are an editing king, Jim, or that was one really long take, and the latter is fairly fucking amazing. It showed that you aren't used to the video-soapbox format but you did a great job of presenting a cogent, structured argument in spite of your discomfort. Christ, and it was unscripted? Fair fucking play!
This plagiarism business - it needed to be said that people are tallying the accusation around without knowing quite what they're saying. You're spot on here. It's like blaming... fucking... meatballs of plagiarizing spaghetti bolognese, or Protestants of plagiarising Catholics. Or someone who uses propositional argumentative techniques of plagiarising Aristotle. 'If it's similar, it's plagiarism.' Fuck off.
More videos plz
Then again, this video was talking about rip-offs...
Also, really glad people seem to like it so far. I was really hoping this could be a cool new series.
Very classy, sir!
Gracias senior Jeemy, gracias.
I frankly didn't like Dante' Inferno but that doesn't mean it was right calling it a blatant rip-off of God of War. Ditto to DarkSiders being called a Zelda rip-off.And we all know just how "rabid" some Zelda fanboys can be.
Also, the fact that you talk exactly like one of my friends is hilarious.
