Funny how Britain took 235 years and ended up using Nintendo to finally get back at you for that whole Declaration of Independence thing.
I guess I can go back to forgetting I have it now.
/facepalm in Nintendo's general direction
those games were released in a period where RPGs were a niche genre. Sure they could have been successes, but they could have been absolute failures and the amount of coding to get it over would have been high. Plus the fact that they didn't own any of the code for those titles plays a big deal in licensing them.
Now, that's not the case anymore. Pandora's Tower is a Nintendo PUBLISHED title. Pandora's Tower is a Nintendo PUBLISHED title. Fatal Frame is a Nintendo PUBLISHED title. Xenoblade is a Nintendo PUBLISHED title. ASH is a Nintendo PUBLISHED title. Last Window and Trace Memory Wii from Cing are Nintendo PUBLISHED titles.
I know I'm getting redundant, but this is their properties. It's bullshit that they can't localize them for a system that has only a very small handful of games that could even be considered deep.
Still it wouldn't cost Nintendo very much to bring them to the Americas, and it would give me an excuse to turn on my Wii. I know that's a cliche phrase, but I have a feeling it's actually true for a lot of gamers.
You're probably right there, and I think that's a shame. In this case being able to import it would save them some bad P.R.
Especially with the wii being so dormant now with 1 big title coming for it.
Even my Die Hard nintendo friends noticed that and are pissed they aren't bringing these and just kinda letting the wii die.
(Ace829) Sorry... I didn't even start attacking the handhelds *Devil Book, Dragon Quest Cavaran*. But that's even longer list...
(Manasteel88) About those titles is that I didn't even fully go at the detailed list of Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS. There's a wonderful website called www.romhacking.net that is well known playground for translators/hackers to translate the old games into English. Gotta remember, Nintendo has to approve of the games publishing as well. That includes 3rd parties.
That rant on their reply was classic. Like I said before, it was pretty much taking a piss on fans expectations while NoA smiles. So thanks for that. I've been on the fence about importing Xenoblade but this has pushed me to pre-ordering it despite costs and illegality of what I'm about to do to my Wii.
"The things I do for love."
*Pushes NoA out the window
As a Wii fan it is fucking absurd. That's my complaint at the most basic level. I want fucking games to play.
Morons.
Jim is right: NoA are talking complete and utter bullsh*t. It defies logic.
Not true. They had substantial losses during the Gamecube era because of reasons like this. I could easily see the WiiU being the end of it, especially after saying it's for the "hardcore" then pissing all their hardcore fans off bout this issue.
I won't be buying the WiiU. I actually was holding out on buying a Wii for, ironically, a Last Story NA announcements. So I guess I don't need one of those either. Thanks for not wanting my money, Nintendo!
I thought Nintendo had a good reason for not localizing these games until those sales figures came up and proved how much higher American sales are for all of those titles.
Ridiculous.
