Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Typically, it's not Destructoid policy to post upon every crappy RPGMaker afterbirth that comes down the pipe. Personally, I've no real interest in Ultimate Final Fantasy Showdown VII-2: Sephiroth Bakes a Cake, and neither should you. Every now and then, however, a truly visionary project finds its way into our hands; Barkley: Shut Up and Jam Gaiden is just such a project. From the YouTube infotext press release:
The Great B-Ball Purge of 2041, a day so painful to some that it is referred to only as the "B-Ballnacht". Thousands upon thousands of the world's greatest ballers were massacred in a swath of violence and sports bigotry as the game was outlawed worldwide. The reason: the Chaos Dunk, a jam so powerful its mere existence threatens the balance of chaos and order. Among the few ballers and fans that survived the basketball genocide was Charles Barkley, the man capable of performing the "Verboten Jam"...
Indeed, like so many other fan-base collaborations meant to pick up where the developer erroneously left off, Barkley: Shut Up and Jam Gaiden offers those of us clamoring for a sequel to Accolade's immortal 1993 epic Barkley: Shut Up and Jam! a little something to tide us over. Developers, take heed: we're not interested in your Marios, your Metal Gears. Give the people what they want. Give them Barkley.

I'd totally play it.

I wouldn't buy it, but I'd totally play it.

Though, if the packaging was awesome, I'd buy it.

High-order genius.
After endless lurking, this movie compelled me to register with DToid.
PS: Barkley's post-battle victory dance is even better than the Black Belt's in FF1 (US).

I hate most SNES RPGs but I love this game. Doesn't hurt that I'm a huge basketball and Barkley fan, but goddamn this game is too damn funny. I just got the Vince Carter cyborg to join my party. The best part is collecting the tears that Mugsy Bogues and Shawn Bradley leave you from beyond the grave. "Thank you.... Mugsy...."
