The
Destructophone (as well as most of the Internets) has been horribly dry this weekend. Not much has happened, but at least we can go out on a high note thanks to Dtoider
Matt T. Matt loves reading the site and of course loves robots. So it was a real simple decision for his Halloween costume this year:
Hey Destructoid!
I really enjoy reading your site and love robots. So, my Halloween costume this year was a no-brainer. However, I went with a design inspired by your very own automaton! Obviously, it's not as crafty or clean looking as yours, but it gets the job done. I used two vehicle tail light covers for the eyes which give a very cool glow effect in photos. I added an antenna, and used round electrical junction boxes for the ears. The housing was made out of metal flashing used for roofing, so it's pretty thin and a little too flimsy. I should have used thicker material. Also, I attached a baseball cap on the interior for comfort and too keep it secure. But, I think I am going to upgrade it to a bike helmet to make it more snug.
Keep up the good work.
Here's to the robot apocalypse!
Awesome job Matt. Now to complete the costume, you just need a eye-catching suit, an entourage of awesome people and a never ending supply of Coronas.
Halloween is still a few days off and if you too want to be have a Mr. Destructoid costume, then check out Sausage Fingers Gregor's step-by-step guide on how to make your own Mr. Destructoid helmet.
[P.S. Check out Matt's artwork on his site too if you got the chance. Doesn't have anything to do with videogames, but it is neat nonetheless.]

Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Also, your website has cool art. Too bad every time you open a piece it resizes the entire Mozilla window, which is mad annoying. I'd fix that if I were you.
