With Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Slant Six Games is giving us the opportunity to run around as some of the series' most prominent characters. It's easy to love such a prospect.
Better yet, the game's Heroes mode has four-person teams of these all-stars fighting one another. Oh, and yeah -- there are zombies (among other things) causing mayhem while all of this is going on. Raccoon City is out in March for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, followed by a PC version at a later date.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Pre-ordered the "special edition" because it is only $5 more and I am hoping that it is better than RE5.....
After watching that video though it looks like this is just an online 4vs4 fest with zombies. If there is no decent single player campaign (4 players or not) then I might have to cancel my said pre-order..
Question Is there more to this than 4vs4 horde style gameplay stuff? I want stupid puzzles and a storyline!
Useless motherfucking stupid age restriction of my fucking ass. Typed the wrong fucking number, can't fucking see it? Seriously? When this fucking hypocrisy will end?
But seriously I remember Nicholai from RE3 - good times. Also, this mode is verbatim from RE5's "Versus" DLC - chalk up a "meh" for me.
@Mix
I doubt it's going to be "better" than RE5, considering you most likely hated RE5 because it was action oriented and not survival horror - this one is co-developed by Slant Six Games (SOCOM) and is said to be action heavy.
Or at least that's the only reason I can come up with for you not liking RE5, because it's a phenominal game.
If you're looking for a scary RE game, revelations on 3DS is the way to go.
First review says it brings back the scares and was nothing but praise.
This is geared at action fans, however there is a 4 player coop campaign that has you revisiting events of RE2 and 3 and even changing the outcomes of them.
This trailer is a MP, along with other MP modes ( not all revealed)
Such as your TDM and whatnot.
Anyway can't wait for this, looks like a lot of fun. Especially for a huge RE fan like me.
@Magnalon
The car chase level in 5 was the nail in the coffin for me but I enjoyed the game as a whole I just miss the days of Re, 1, 2 and 3.
The Resident Evil series had been my #1 game series for a very long time and it is what made me rush out to buy a GameCube! I want to feel those impulses again....
It's Raccoon City Resident Evil. If it's going to be an action series, I'd rather have workable controls and a good setting than what we've had in the last two RE games. I'm all over this.
This is a spin-off, not a numbered title in the series. If you want something more along the lines of the first 3 Resident Evil games, check out Resident Evil Revelations on the 3DS.
2: Why couldn't this be the main game's two stories modes? Instead of crappy hunk clone mary sues?
3:Lone Wolf? who? Why not nemesis or Mr X? or even Sherry's Mom?
4: Ada as a Villain? I mean, She's not exactly a super hero, but she rarely does "Evil things". I guess they needed someone fleshed out on Villain's side.
I would kill for a complete remake of RE2 and RE3 like they did with REmake... It would be so wonderful to see a current gen RE console game with a relatable setting and emphasis on *survival horror*. Guess this is the closest thing I'll get.
I want the survival horror genre back, but for the time being I am a dedicated RE fan and would like to see Chris, Krauser, Wesker, and maybe Steve. Hope RE6 brings it back, but who knows.
The Resident Evil series has never been above leeching on whatever is popular at the time so this is no surprise. Remember the Gun Survivor games? Or Resident Evil's attempt at online (which had some really cool elements to it I'd like to see implemented better), Dance Dance REvolution? Point is, people are saying lately that Capcom's turned into this evil company attempting to cash-in on everything. They've always been that way! I don't know about you but I must have bought Resident Evil 2 at least 5 times in different "versions". Left 4 Dead meets classic Resident Evil with a little of the most popular shooter thrown in to hook the foul-mouthed middle school brats - I'm surprised there's not a plan for random dragon encounters, although Mr. X and Nemesis seemed to do that first anyhow. Agree that I don't agree with the Jill looking like she's aging backwards and Carlos' looking anglicized. Oh well, this should be fun.
god damn capcom i wasn't planning on buying this in the first place but being able to play characters like Leon, Claire, Jill and Ada Wong as well as Carlos, Nikolai and Hunk???

MAKE ME FEEL AGAIN Capcom!
I can dig that.
Ah well. I'm sure RE6 will fix that.
You used to be a survival horror game...
Now you are just Call of Duty...

1: No Chris or Wesker shoved in? THANK GOD!

Anyway, I'm actually pretty excited for this game.
damn capcom knows how to draw fans out.
