Words cannot express how hot I am for Heavenly Sword. Whenever news of it appears I come running like Federline to an orphaned food stamp. In this clip you'll see some of the amazing facial capture technology going into the game, the director's vision for the cinematic production, some actor footage, and perhaps the most brutal crushing of male genetelia in video game history. If you blink you'll miss it. I'm hoping more clips like this make their way on the Blu-ray as well.
Makes me wonder who'd win in a fight ... her or Kratos?

I really can't wait to see what percentage of the game is cinematic button command sequences and Dynasty Warrior-esque button mashing, but the sheer cinematic quality and atmosphere could make that a moot point.
I actually got to play this game at E3 last year and it was my favorite from the show, despite the small sandbox area demo. Here's some old-ass footage we took from hands-on time:
Another me too Devil may cry clone with mythical overtones, I'm so sick of the industry's unoriginality, and the fact that it keeps getting lapped up by the masses.
Yeah, I've actually wondered about the gameplay elements of this and God of War. Are they a lot like Dragon's Lair and Shenmue with the context sensitive buttons and timing issues? Does it get frustrating and boring like Dragon's Lair after 5 min?
Looks like it may be the first good game on the PS3 (Resistance does not interest me in the least) which is nice, but it's certainly not enough to make me want to buy the console yet.
it does seem like it's trying a bit much to be
God of War. hope there are differences...if not then
i wonder how the creators or God of War feel about it
being so similar to their product.
This is a very good step in video game acting. Almost all last generation we have been plagued with disgusting voice acting in video games. These guys get it. They want the game to be presented very dramatically, and they are taking it to the next level. Good voice acting, yes. And then they add great facial expression.
@scott, Ohhh! now thats a good rumor, wouldn't that be nice! And it would reinforce the fact that the game is more than likely going to be out in June.
@realretro: I was wondering when somebody else would notice who that guy was, lol. It's not very surprising though since he did do Gollum and has experience with it.
On the subject of the game it doesn't look that bad. I may get a PS3 (eventually) to try it out.
Its a great video, but... has anyone noticed they are talking about Face acting, but the faces in the game are completely unemotional (not to mention awful looking)? The girl has a poker face 90% of the time! Oblivion has better "face acting"
im hoping this is a game that brings the ps3 out of the dumps cus i want one, and im hoping its not to much of a god of war rip off. or a button smasher
This just looks like God of war for PS3....... it doesn't bring anything new to it, and it seems kind of chunky to me. Not that it's a bad thing, just that it doesn't bring anything new that we haven't seen already done on the PS2.
Looks like a good game. I'll wait till it comes out for the 360 though. It might take a while, but I've never owned two consoles and I don't plan on starting now.

I hope it's at GDC this year so I can spend more time with it
Great video, though I don't see this game coming out till fall.
Regardless of who would win, talk about a KILLER sex mini-game in there!
If so, that sux.
tough choice...i love me some God of War...
More Sex Mini-games.
because he is willing to kill people in horrible ways
shes just doing things in style when he kills right away
thats vs. btw
I'LL TEAR YOUR SOUL APART!!!
Also, how long has there been a "Life Clock" (at about 25sec) in Heavenly Sword? First time I've noticed it in any footage.

Too bad I don't have 600 dollars.

Baby of Heavenly War
oh god no.
This game would be good if you actually controlled what was going on. "Press X to view next cutscene" doesn't cut it for me."
Thank you, thaaaank you!!
