This is it, folks: the season finale of The Great Retro Quiz! Don’t fret, though; it will be back for an even better “Season 2” after a short break. I just need to tweak a few things -- maybe hire twenty-five beautiful women to hold some metal cases -- and, I don’t know, install a Plinko board or something. Yeah, the Great Retro Quiz! definitely needs a Plinko board.

In the meantime, start studying up on things like Final Fantasy VI, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Metroid. These games may be making an appearance come next season (hint hint).

To celebrate the grand finale and the strangely coincidental release of Mario Kart Wii, this week’s quiz is all the original Super Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. How well do you remember it?

I'll admit, this one was a little easy because I played Mario Kart so much as a kid. Great quiz chad, the weapons questions made me smile

I'm so pissed I lost my copy of this game. I have Super Circuit on GBA, and it has all the tracks, but it's just not quite the same. Didn't help that they removed pipes and thwomps from the SNES tracks, Rainbow Road is totally neutered :(

YES! I played the hell out of Super Mario Kart. This was the first game I got when I got my SNES for Christmas sooooo many years ago.

Most of these questions were easy for me.
I just have to say that nothing ever since has replaced the fun that the original Super Mario Kart brought when I was a kid. (Though, I still haven't played the Wii version)

Like king3vbo, this one was a tad easy for the older kids who played Super Mario Kart back in the day(1992).

5's the only one that I don't know for sure. Good quiz. I'm really not sure just how many people would know all of these, but I played this game obsessively back in the day. I'm just a bit rusty on the tracks. I sold my copy long ago, because I just swear too much while playing the game. It makes me far too competitive.
