The Great Retro Quiz! .21: King's Quest photo
     PC

This is a really emotional quiz for me. I grew up on the old Sierra “Quest” games and pinpoint them as the main reasons I love videogames today. Sadly, I debated whether or not to even do a quiz on the original King’s Quest in the fear that a lot of people haven’t played it (I like to pretend that this is everyone’s favorite game). Now is the time to prove me wrong. Come out of the woodwork, old school adventure fans! Unite!

Are you like me and have nothing but fond memories of this classic, revolutionary adventure? Do you remember every baffling verb/noun combination? Take the quiz to find out. (Anyone that gets a perfect score is officially my new hero.)

Just leave your answers in the comments and check my community blog tomorrow (2/7) for the results.

“Initiate quiz.” (I don’t know how to do that.) “Perform quiz.” (I don’t know how to do that.) “Take quiz.” (You begin taking the quiz.) Good luck!

I would take this if it were Space Quest.

(sorry to ignore the quiz, but i only know the first few, and mentions of King's Quest trigger nostalgic rants) I played this (and the other early ones) when the collector's edition came out, and even with King's Quest V and VI on hand, these text-based ones were still great.
Still, my favorite of the series was VII, by a long shot. Space Quest VI, was also amazing.
Since I'm way off topic, but still thinking point-and-click Sierra games, did anyone play Torin's Passage?

YAY! I haven't played the first one yet - better fire up my anthology disc :)

I'd do pretty well on a Perils of Rosella or Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow Retro Quiz though. MAN I loved those games. Best memories ever.

If this quiz was King's quest V and beyond, I would rock the shit out of it. Unfortunately, at my tender age I could not for the life of me figure out text commands.

When you guys were answering the question about your first PC game memories on RetroforceGo this week, mine was King's Quest. I played games before that, but I learned to spell playing KQ. I consider KQ to be the game that started my entire life of video game playing.

That being said, I haven't played it in at least 15 years. Probably 20. I'm not too sure about the locations of items...
