Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

As gaming further and further ingrains itself as another trademark of ironic hipster culture, we will see more and more bands, especially of the Indie persuasion, adopting gaming motifs as themes for their art. Hence, the above video courtesy of Britain's The Go! Team. While their abilities in the realm of punctuation are somewhat lacking, their talents at combining gaming (even neo-deconstructionist gaming) with the very indiest of Indie Rock in a hilarious music video win them points with even the most jaded hipsters.

(Editor's Note: The song is Junior Kickstart off of their album Thunder, Lightning, Strike. If you feel you need more ultra-hep marching band music, the entire album is of that milieu. -- Nexy)

That was AWESOME! I wish you could pull a move like Ms. Pacman did in the alleyway in the real game. Although, Blinky, Inky, Pinky... Where's Clyde?

The song title is "Junior Kickstart" for those interested...

Off their debut album "Thunder, Lightning, Strike"

That had me the teensiest bit excited there was a new album coming, but alas.

Their whole album is worth checking out as most of the tracks are at this same tempo level/sound, and makes for some excellent fast driving music. Perfect for that next speeding ticket.

Go! Team's cd is by far my favorite cd of last year (2 years ago? I forget when it came out but regardless was my favorite).

What about the Lady Sov video? Tetris ftw!

Someone should probably just do a "Game-based music videos."

I nominate Xiu Xiu's Boy Soprano.

Cool video!! Too bad it had a sad ending though. I was kind of hoping Pacman would come and rescue her in the end. And it did seem a bit odd almost no pedestrians reacted to Ms. Pacman being chased by ghosts. An everyday occurrence perhaps?

And what ARE the names and colors of all the Pacman ghosts anyways??

That was pretty cool.

Like momiji58 I was hoping Pacman would show up and save her or atleast a power pellet appear and then they'd turn blue and run away...

Oh well, nice time waster while at work though :) Thanks!

Damn I love that song. I love the whole album. But I always kind of thought that the video should be based on a 70's cop show.

I'm waiting for the incoming death UK hip hop starlets akin to our own Tupac and Biggie, you know, when Lady Sov and Lily Allen's posse ends up offing each other. Then we'll get a new album from both of them every 6 months that just gets progressively more and more annoying.

Good thing they did this in New York. If it was Boston they would be arrested and Namco would have to pay a lump sum for Boston's incompetance.
