The gift that keeps on giving: $100 rebate on Xbox 360 consoles photo

So, you weren't able to buy a discounted Xbox 360 from Amazon? Well, don't kick yourself too much, because another deal has just resurfaced. The good people at Micro Center didn't want to stop partaking in the holiday spirit, so they extended their $100 mail-in rebates on both Core and Premium 360 systems through 12/31/06.

Unfortunately, there is a catch -- you must live near a Micro Center store, because these rebates can't be used if you buy a 360 from their Web site. Still interested? Then, check out this handy dandy map that shows store locations.

Before you start complaining, I already know that mail-in rebates are a pain in the ass to deal with. But, I think that the console is worth the hassle -- it already has Gears of War. Plus, a slew of other great games will be coming to 360 soon. Why wait?

No -- especially since you own a 360 already.

Ah, good point. But honestly, my box cracked up durring Viva Pinata for the first time today. Let see how long it survives.

It always seems the case that every great deal I read about online is for a store that just so happens to be nowhere near me.
For instance, I always read about deals at Costco all the time, but of course there doesn't seem to be one of those closer than 300 miles away from me. And Micro Center? Let's just say there's only 19 in the entire country.

Fuck Micro Center. Fuck them in their tiny assholes.

jk, but really, I live near Portland, OR - you'd think they'd at least have one in Seattle, but no. Bastards.

I'm near one. I was planning on getting one around the original end date. But now that they pushed it back, I can pick one up after Christmas. Don't have to worry about spending gift money on myself. Eh, who am I kidding, I'll do that anyways.

Sweet! The Philadelphia/Radnor store is about 1.5 hours away from me just about straight out the PA Turnpike! I'll save more on that rebate than I'll spend in gas to get there! :)

Besides Gears of War and Dead Rising and Lost Planet...I don't see any other games on the system that would warrant this purchase...I shall wait.

Um ... HD-DVD drive for $299 not enough reason? Hell, it's STILL cheaper than buying a PS3 for BluRay!
