Damn right Guild Wars 2 deserves to win, an MMORPG that makes the genre fun and interesting again deserves any price.
True Hollie, there were no hour-long waiting lines to be found at the GW2 stage, but only because there wasn't a line to wait in. There is little doubt there wasn't a single stage more effin crowded to be found at the whole GC than the GW2 stage during presentations. (Yeah, except the Blizzard one, of course.) But seriously, it was insane. So insane I failed to snatch even a shirt or that cute tiny bag.

Not that it doesn't deserve it (it sure does!) but I thought it was a bit too niche at current to get enough votes behind it for something like this.

This is probably the #1 Expo-winning game ever that will have the shortest life span once it launches... damn MMOs (except WoW... yeah, I went there).
@goatnuke short lifespan? What are you talking about? You realize the original Guild Wars is still active, right? And GW2 is doing so many wonderful and refreshing things for the MMORPG genre.. it's going to be THE game to watch. And with no subscription fees, anybody can get in on it and enjoy it.

I am a little bitter that I went to the NCSoft press bit three times and the NCSoft show floor booth four times and never got any hands-on time with it. I've been waiting for this game since what, late 2007 though, so a few more months, years or whatever won't kill me. I know I'll be buying it day 1 anyway.
I don't see it up yet, but we have an Guild Wars 2 interview going up sometime soon-ish.
@goatnuke you couldn't be more wrong. The first Guild Wars came closer to WoW's numbers than any other MMO to date and is still going strong. This isn't Age Of Conan we're talking about, Guild Wars is arguably the biggest deal in MMOs outside of WoW. To put that in some perspective, FFXI had around 500,000 active subscribers in 2008 and in 2009 broke the 2 million created characters mark. In 2009 Guild Wars had flogged over 6 million copies. WoW, in all its life span, has made 10 million subscribers (they claim they've made 12 million subscribers, but when doing so they always suspiciously fail to mention the word "active"). 4 million is a large margin of course but it's still the second biggest out there.
