And it counts to give ideas to remove ideas? If so; then please remove the "random video" thing, it makes my web-browser crash everytime i enter D'tod.
.. also a month of Ekans = EPIC WIN. Period!
Anything really original would be awesome... as much as I read industry opinion stuff, it's always refreshing seeing some thought-provoking yet humorous stuff I can only find here.
However, if you're talking more about non-cblog stuff, I'm always down for fun lists and trips to the zoo!
Also, as long as we keep stuff like the Memory Card, I'm good with anything. :D
See: Rules of the Forums, Section 1.1a
It not what you think. It's just common traffic scenarios hilariously played out by people (who are not in cars). Like, maybe walking around an office building.
Here are a couple of scenarios:
-Group of people are jogging down the hall and all slow way down as they approach a guy off to the side, tying his shoe. One of the people is all like "Damn, that sucks." (Like rubbernecking at a broken down car)
-Similar group of people are jogging down a hall, but another guy with aviators and a moustache (cop) joins the crowd at an intersecting hall, so they all slow down and match the cop guy's speed.
-Some guy cuts right in front of like a row of five people to turn left down a hallway.
-Two d-baggy looking dudes are all provoking each other at the doorway to a room, they take off at once, racing, but one of the guy crashes into an end table with an expensive lamp.
-Asian women walking slowly.
-Black guys walking around with huge boom-boxes.
-Two ladies laying on the ground with their arms and legs all tangled and pretzelled together in a hilarious and sexy people-wreck.
These things write themselves.
Not the same idea, but same concept: Live action, unforced video games related humor. Kinda like Mega64
I'm a big fan of things like Games of the Week and basically any article where you have multiple people talking about / arguing over something. Lists are kinda' over-used in games blogging so it wouldn't be good to go overboard, but the prospect of a "top 5 Pokemon" article from multiple people on staff makes me wet.
How about something where we give the community a theme (games, characters, scenes from games, etc) and they have to create artwork and fanart based on that? Like Monthly Musings, but exclusively with art?
Also, I want YOU to do more of the "Word on the Street" skit you did once for the dtoid show. That was amazing.
<3
And E3 predictions from Zoo animals.
That hippo owes us for lying about Metroid Dread!
Speaking of youtube videos -
How do you post images and youtube videos in the comments here?
Other features ideas, you should have a weekly article about the Tenchu series until someone finally announces a new game. Also Soul Calibur 5.
You should have more developer interviews from across the pond. Make a few phone calls or shoot them an email.
You should cover more handheld games, especially PSP.
You should show more cats, because that above picture is fantastic.
I like recurring series! I always look forward to reading those.
I miss the stuff Reverend Anthony would write. The really thoughtful dissections of themes in gaming, stuff like that.
I also would love to see some behind-the-scenes industry stuff, like games that could have been but why they didn't happen or how things fell into place for something we all love. Just a few thoughts.
Not sure if I like more video content as a majority of my online time is at work, but I'd enjoy it if it was done similar to how holmes works his Constructoid. A long discussion below a video summary.
Also, more recurring stories is welcome
BOOM!!! Your mind = BLOWN!!!
As for feature material, MORE OF ANYTHING! Stuff like the Zoo animal predictions and whatnot were a hit, but there's nothing wrong with an op-ed post about why you liked or didn't like a popular title or have any difference of opinion. Personal stories, re-imaginings, game series suggestions. Feature posts have been a little sparse recently and we want more! Dtoid Features have always been some of the best the internet has to offer.
There's an interesting concept there to be built upon. How about when a particularly controversial review is posted by a dtoid staff member, follow that up a few days later with a collection of cblog reviews supporting or refuting the staff review? In other words "Jim Sterling hated it, here's what the community thinks."

I tell all my Kotaku loving friends that... it doesn't seem to help. They still go to the "World's Douchiest Website" every day. Lame.

Well that makes too of us.
Also, how's about a feature where you actually try and investigate some videogames shenanigans? You know, like actual journalism. I like videogame "journalism" as it is really, but it kills me that no seems to care enough to bother to actually snoop around when some fishy news preice pops up. A prime example is the whole IW VS Activision debacle. Why has no one even attempted to try and dig up some info on what really happened? None of us actually knows what the fuck actually happened. And we probably never will if no one steps up and tries to do some detective work. Interview some employees or look through their garbage or something! How's about the recent Geohot VS Sony Vs Anonymous thing? Did geohot really plan that vacation, or did he run away? What are Sony really aiming to accomplish from all of this? What are they doing concerning Anonymous? What really happened with Jeff Gerstman incident 3 years ago? Why am I the only who seems curious enough to ask these questions, and who will dare and attempt to answer them???
Joint reviews on coop games would also be cool. Teaming up with dtoid staff and doing reviews would be awesome.
By the way....gears of war 3 has 4 player coop on the campaign. I'm getting gears of war 3.
Just saying.
