Dementium II is a game we know very little about so far. We’ve been teased with weird brochures and odd viral videos, but thanks to the new issues of Nintendo Power, we finally get our first look at the game.
Dementium II takes place right after the first game starring the same guy as before. The player is in an asylum where on top of all the chaos that's happening, he’ll be entering into a Hell dimension every now and again -- Kind of like in Silent Hill. Melee combat has been improved and there’s going to be a new Castlevania-style map that tracks your progress.
Sounds good so far. As long as there’s a better save system in Dementium II, I’ll be happy. Also, do not go to Renegade Kid’s Web site if you have yet to beat the original Demnetium as there’s a massive spoiler.

Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Gon was awesome.
Oh and Dementium sounds good too. Mostly because of the words "Castlevania-style map".
PS: I really don't want anymore of those damned leeches.... the noise is just horrible....
I'm not a graphics whore or anything, but I often find it hard to go back to PS1 era 3D game classics because the graphics are so cringe-worthy. Even frickin' awesome games like Vagrant Story take some time to get past the graphical mush.
Second, and along the same graphical vein, the DS is a HORRIBLE place for games that are trying to look semi-realistic. It simply can't handle it and everything just comes out looking drab and boring.
Third, the DS is ALSO not an ideal platform for CONTROLLING FPSs. It's awkward and clunky at best.
So why do companies like these guys continue to stick in a genre that there really aren't any advantages to making on the DS? PLAY TO THE STRENGTH OF THE SYSTEM, PEOPLE!
PS: I make an exception 3D-graphics-wise for DQIX which has used a wonderful art style to make its 3D graphics appealing.
And the Wii, which has a fantastic interface for FPSs, has only 2 or so worth playing. The irony.
