The first Sims 3 expansion, 'World Adventures,' revealed photo

This morning, Electronic Arts revealed the first expansion pack for The Sims 3. Dubbed “World Adventures,” the content appears to be geared towards giving your Sims some culture -- via exploration. Yes!

According to official release, “World Adventures” whisks characters to Shang Simla, Champ Les Sims, and Al Simhara. Once at an exotic location, players can choose to “change their Sims’ lives” by searching for treasure, by pursuing “personal opportunities,” and by meeting people. Once done, the Sim becomes pregnant with culture and returns home to odd stares. But the memories won’t be shared strictly through animations -- apparently Sims can show off their travels through pictures and video.

Purchasers of “World Adventures” will receive 1,000 SimPoints (re: Banana Dollars) that come in handy when Electronic Arts reveals the rest of the content at a price via The Sims 3 Store. Score.

The Sims 3 DLC hits worldwide on November 16th. Hit the break for the press release.

YeY thanks EA for buttfucking us with the new content.
You (of course) are gona put a bazillion DLC for an unfairly high price and then expect us to be happy.
But hey thats how companies work. They put extreemmly little content in their games and than expect us too buy the thousands of expansion to make money those greedy Bastards.

This expansion will also be expanded, but that's just rumor or speculation.

Dead Space can't get a fucking real sequel, with more than a handful of enemy types. And this bullshit gets expanded. I personally blame Brad Nicholson for this.

Yay! This is going to be exactly the same as every other Sims expansion pack.

Fuck-all content and "game-changing experiences" that do absolutely nothing.

Oh, and a load of items that the community has already made. Woo.

I thought that stupid ass Sims store was going to do away with in-store expansions? Doesn't this defeat the whole purpose of the Sims store now?

Oh wait never mind I can still buy lamps and shirts for money. Thank God

@ the two above me,

Well, the last 2 games both had 8 expansions each. I guess I'm just uber good at finding patterns, but it'd be a good guess to say this one will get 8. As for packs, who knows. I didn't even know people actually paid for them. I thought they developed them strictly for pirates.

What the hell is everyone complaining about Since when is additional content EVER a fucking negative thing?
If you don't like the Sims 3 don't play it, no-one's holding a gun to your head. I personally think it's sweet but does that mean I'm planning on buying extra content? Not as it stands, but it's great to know it's there if I want it.
I repeat: what's the problem with this?

@The Legendary Man

Yes, I know. My question is, why would that be a bad thing? Shall we also complain about getting extra maps for CoD, or extra content for Fallout 3?
EA releasing extra shit for a good game is good. The logic of everyone here confuses me.
