Top game-changing mods for Skyrim on the Steam Workshop
The Steam Workshop is a great way to install mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. If you are getting tired of the gameplay, here are some mods that will changes some of the mechanics to give you a different experience. Maybe you want to fight for survival against the elements, be forced to eat, go fishing, or change all of the music to something from Zelda. To install any of these mods, just click on the link and it will take you right to the Steam Workshop page, and then just click "subscribe." The next time you launch Skyrim, all of the mods will be installed and activated by some magical power. Spend Dragon Souls For Perks - Tired of not being to unlock all of the awesome perks? This mod will let you use dragon souls to gain new perks. Enhanced High-Level Gameplay - Skyrim scales in difficulty with the player, but a lot of enemies never get higher than level 35. If you have a level 50 or higher character, there isn't much of a challenge left. This mod uncaps the enemies' levels, so they will just keep getting stronger and stronger. Frostfall - Hypothermia, Camping, Survival - This turns Skyrim into a hardcore survival simulator. Being wet or cold will kill you, and you'll have to search for wood to start fires to stay alive. Imp's More Complex Needs - This adds something similar to Fallout: New Vegas' hardcore mode where you have to eat, drink, and sleep to stay alive. This is awesome if you want to actually roleplay, and combined with Frostfall, you can enjoy a completely new play style. Zelda Audio Conversion - Why not change all of the game music to stuff from The Legend of Zelda? Unread Books Glow - Any book you haven't read will glow, making it easier to find. Way of the Monk - Overhauls unarmed and unarmored skills and combat. It adds new skills, clothing, perks, enhancements, and enemies. Perfect for those who want to play as a monk. Fishing In Skyrim - If World of Warcraft or Torchlight have taught us anything it's that something as mundane as fishing can be fun in a role-playing game. This mods lets you fish for hours on end. Stones of Barenziah Quest Markers -This adds quest markers for all of the "Stones of Barenziah," which I'm sure you know can be a pain to find. Project Legacy - This interesting mod adds persistence to your character by adding permanent scars, beard and hair growth over time, character aging, birthdays, player alignment, and evolving diseases. While a work in progress, it's super fun to play around with. It's recommended that you start as a new character, since the character's looks are designed to be shaped as you play. After playing for a long time, you'll look like a worn and beat-up old person, which is kind of badass. Mercenaries - This mod let's you hire ;mercenaries to fight with you. You can hire as many as you want and even build a small army. This is great if you get bored with the combat but want to keep playing. Multiple Followers Lite - Have up to seven followers go adventuring with you. This is different from a lot of alternative follower mods because it's designed to be friendly with other mods. Midas Magic - Turn your enemies into rabbits, attack them with swarms of bugs, summon a dragon, kill people with avalanches, or shoot lasers from your fingers with the addition of over 60 new spells. Finally, I'll leave you with Magicka Sabers and Jedi Robes, because why not add some Star Wars to Skyrim? If you want to enhance the way Skyrim looks, check out this guide on how to install over 200 graphical mods. What are your favorite gameplay additions to Skyrim? Did you know?
