Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

What are the two best things on this earth? Answer: Destructoid and Apple. Finally, a loyal reader (Mike Szegedy) has combined these two monumental things and created the friendly Dtoid Widget, or Widgitoid if you will. Now for you Mac users who love a good Widgit, you can get the Dtoid RSS feed in hipster form.

Download the app here -- don't worry, we checked for viruses, and unlike Nex, it's STD free.

God! I started reading up on widget programming about two days ago because I was like "man wouldn't it be cool if I made a dtoid widget?" And just when I'm in the rare process of getting myself to learn something new, you come along and beat me to it!!!!!!!

Sometimes I add widgets just to see the cool ripple effect.
Also, Vista doesn't have the MacGuyver talking paperclip gadget like XP did...wait a minute.

Dumb question 72: Does anyone know if having lots of widgets that hit up the intertubes (like weather, currency, movie listings, etc.) are always connected and querying? I may be paranoid, but I try to keep my bandwidth down while I play Xbox Live (not everyone has that courtesy, downloading donkey porn while hosting) and while it may not be monster packets of traffic like Ass Guzzler 22: The Sploogening.avi, I like to do what I can to keep everyones live experience lag free.
QOS on my router helps, but I can't just turn off the iMac while playing, need to stream custom tunes.
Paranoid or bored and typey?

I like my MACs, but I think Dashboard blows. If I could bring certain widgets to sit on my desktop, ala Konfabulator, that would be the bee's knees.

That crossover app doesn't list that it's compatible with Steam , Velcro... They even list that Codename Gordon specifically doesn't work with it.

I'd die to have my precious HL2 back on a computer in my home.

20" iMacs, FTW!

Also 12" iBooks FTW as well.

I'd use the widget, but I really only use Dashboard for an alarm clock widget and Sudoku widget. As infrequently that I come to the Destructoid website (viewing large numbers of articles in succession), I wouldn't really need it. Looks real good for those that want it, though. I'm thinking of learning Mac-specific software design/programming, and making interesting Destructoid-related widgets would be an interesting project.
