It's been a busy week here at The Destructoid Show! On top of today's Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoningreview, we've got another one for The Darkness II, a game I've personally been excited about for some time now. If you haven't read Conrad's review of the game already, slap yourself in the face and then go do that, too!
[Warning: A few YouTube users have complained that this review contains "spoilers," as it describes an emotional scene near the beginning of the game. While I don't think describing the scene will make the scene any less emotional for players, consider yourselves warned.]

Meet the rest of the team
This game definitely looks pretty cool and I liked the demo well enough, but I never played the first Darkness. In fact, I never even heard of it until you started talking about this game a year ago.
I will probably end up getting it, and maybe just find a Let's Play of the first game or something to get up to speed with the "story".
As someone who loved the 1st game and the atmosphere that the graphics helped create, I was a bit disappointed in the decision of the dev team to change to cell-shading. Not that cell-shaded graphics are a bad thing (I loved what it does for Borderlands, etc.) but it kinda ruined the overall feel that I was accustomed to from the first Darkness. Nonetheless, the skill well, and being able to put more use to the darkling and "Darkness" is awesome..
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I enjoyed the story in the first one, and I can't wait for another pulling of the heartstrings.
Also thanks for the review <3
Also, also emotions.
...aaand the game looks good. I didn't think the writer would be able to recapture what he did with the Jenny scenes in part one.
