The Destructoid Comic: The beginning photo

Say hello to the Destructoid comic! You know how I did those Tell me what to draw posts? Where you would post in the comments about what I should draw next? Well, after the success of that one shot Destructor-toid comic page I did, why not do a community controlled Web comic? So yeah, here it is. Rather than continue from the Destructor-toid, I thought I'd give it a fresh start, give you all a chance to pitch a starting point for a story. Hell, If you really want the Destructor-toid back, just suggest it!

Okay so the rules are as follows:

1. You have 24 hours from the time this blog was posted to suggest what happens next, after that, I will choose the winning comment! The page will then be posted the following week.
2. Try to keep it relatively SFW.
3. You can only make a suggestion once per week.
4. Your suggestion has to fit on one page.

Get your thinking caps on, whoever wins will be setting the scene. It can be dark, serious, funny, exciting, whatever, I'm looking for something that would be interesting to draw and to look at.

So I say to you, oh great Destructoid community ...

HOW SHALL IT BEGIN?

Simple: The creation of the world.

...and Niero waved his hand across the Internet and created Destructoid, and he said, "It is good."

I hope I don't get struck by lightning the next time I go outside for that one. :P

@ Namelessted

I thought that, too, but I think it's a view from inside the machine.

For some reason I Imagine Niero sitting behind a huge wooden desk, with a giant oil painting of Miyamoto in the background, having a light beer and stroking a white cat in the most evil fashion possible.

In a post apocalyptic world where Robots rule and all known humanity is stuck in "Ataria" forced to constantly duel each other in cyberized tournaments one man(Niero) becomes more and more of a up-and-comming star of the "Destructo Games". Once he has gained enough popularity he becomes more and more observant to the world around him and sees a terrible plot unfolding. With the help of local legends, and the hat that disguises him as one of the Robot-enslavers Niero sets out on an epic journey like none you have seen before. Viva la revolution bitches.

how about a nice scenic panel showing a rooster (also cocks) heralding in sunrise. A Smallville farmhouse and such, fields of amber grain. Some Disney big eye cute farm animal, and then it getting violently crushed by the boot of some badass mofo. The kind of badass with a gun for a hand and an eye-patch. He's like a bounty hunter, his target: The Destructoid robot.

or ninjas, whatever

The scene, a dark boardwalk arcade, lit only by the lights of the games inside, on a rainy evening. Old cabinets of Daytona USA with INSERT COIN burnt into the screen, games of Area 51, Police Trainer, Ski Ball and Time Crisis II are unoccupied. The place is empty except for two people; a bored clerk with a cigarette loosely hanging from his lips playing his DS in front of racks of Chinese rip-off plushes of Sonic, Knuckles and Tales with a sign reading 500 Tickets in front. The only other person in the arcade is a silhouetted figure standing in front of an old version of Street Fighter II. We cant see the player as he is lit only by the arcade screen. Suddenly, from outside, we hear something very large land from just outside the entrance. its so heavy we hear the boardwalk cracking. It's Destructor-Toid, though we don't see it at this point. The final frame on the page is Jim, outlined by a lightning strike, wearing a bandoleer of shotgun shells and holding a pump action shotgun. Looking straight at the shadowy figure playing Street Fighter, as the clerk stares dumbfounded at Jim, his cigarette falling out of his mouth, Jim speaks the first line of the comic: "The president has been kidnapped by Ninja's. And that is the least of our problems." END PAGE

The editors of destructoid all wished on the same night for a break from their routine lives in the real world for a chance to live in the world of video games. Neiro grants their wish and brings them all to a world that is run by the rules and physics found in video games. Although they are happy with their new roles as a party of travelers on a quest, they must compete with others who have managed to find their way into the same place, and will stop at nothing to gain the mystical and mysterious 'THE HIGH SCORE'.

The Destructoid robot must defend the gaming community of D-toid from the Cockinator, who is trying to bone everyone.

It's a calm party. Our Familiar DToiders are chatting, casually drinking and gaming. Some smile, others are solemn. Jim, ever dignified, looks out a window. He turns to the party and signals for attention. The party looks on to see his glass raised high. "We are here to honor a friend." Next panel: Niero doing a shoop-da-whoop. A tear trails from Jim's monocled eye.
