The Destructoid Comic: Goodwill hunting photo

Previously on the Destructoid Comic:

Underground in the Destructoid City subway system, RetroforceGO!, Jim Sterling and the Failcast crew find themselves surrounded by a horde of zombies. Selflessly, the Failcast crew decide to to distract the horde allowing Jim and the RetroforceGO! team to escape.

It's been a long night, but they finally make it to the Goodwill store to get hold of a Dreamcast needed to power Topher's ship, the Ikaruga. The only hope the team have of bringing down the Destructor-toid and saving the city.

Meanwhile, it is revealed that the the menace behind the Destructor-toid is Tom Jackson, a vicious megalomaniac intent on proving to the world that videogames are a threat to the world.

This weeks comic was inspired by Technophile. You can check out his idea and the two new comic pages after the break.
Here is my idea. The remaining group finally makes it to their goal. The goodwill. We see the outside of a store called "Destructoid City Goodwill Forum"

Inside looks much bigger then you would think from the outside. Scattered around the store are shelves of games, books and what have you. There are a few people mingling about. Stocking a shelf labeled FNF is Mxyzptlk and behind the counter is yours truly. Mingling around the store can be a bunch of forum regulars like Banj, Morty and what have you. Fill the place with references :D

"Dyson! So good to see you. I have that Dreamcast you ordered" I say to the group.

"Oh and before you go, take a badge" as I say point toward the box of badges on the counter.
I say inspired because virtually nothing from the comment made it into the end product apart from Forums. This is mostly due me having to cut things to make it work. I also thought it would be nice to give the Forum a bigger part in the story.

THE RULES:
1. You have 24 hours from the time this blog was posted to suggest what happens next.

2. Try to keep it relatively SFW.

3. You can only make a suggestion once per week.

4. Your suggestion has to fit on one page (although I will occasionally stretch it to two pages).

Will the gang finally get hold of a Dreamcast and take down the Destructor-toid? Did the Failcast crew survive? Is CTZ still alive?

Fantastic, as Always! I think the CBlog Recaps crew needs a shout out. Why not have the Recap crew pouring over all the data (the blogs and the trading fourm by way of Deus Ex machina Extension) looking for mention of a Dreamcast for trade. However, in the trade, Copies of Ico, Parasite Eve 1 and a Mr. Destuctoid Bomberman Bobblehead Figure are required for the trade, granting our adventurers another place to look for and adventure to, the Local Games Shop Down The Street. Before they could leave, midway through the page, CTZ comes flying through the roof (floor?) and into the basement, landing on Jim, the Shark Armour battered but not defeated. In his hand, the figure of Mr. Destructoid as Bomberman Bobblehead.

Hamza: I hit him with the Banhammer and I got a prize! Must have been the cockpit of the robot. There was no one inside, but I found this!

He says as he replaces his cracked helmet. The final word Blurb is from jim, still being crushed under Hamza's armour.

"Hamza, while it's wonderful to see you're alive, please get the **** off..."

As Destructortoid sees where Hamza went, Techno sounds the evacuation alarm and that page ends.

Meanwhile back in Tom Jackson's base, he slams his fist on the console showing the Dtoid crew escaping his army of zombies and robots.
Tom Jackson: Damn it all! Where are they?!
Mr. Destructoid: Looks like you've underestimated my friends
(TJ calms himself and straightens his tie)
TJ: I was hoping I wouldn't have to resort to that, but I'm left without any other option.
TJ presses a button on his console and a door opens behind him
TJ: Behold, my Robot Sumo.
MD: What the hell? Why should they be worried about those things?
TJ: Simple, their SOBALLR
MD: So Baller?
TJ: Yes - Self Optimizing Ballistic Automatic Loading Laser Rifles
MD: Wait - if they've got guns, why make them sumo wrestlers?
TJ: Well, because....um...Quiet you! (TJ slaps MD across the face)
MD: (spits blood) When I get my helmet back, you're a dead man

I love how you foreshadowed this in an earlier comic... you seem to know where you're going with this:
We need at least one of these gags in the next strip:
1) Steaks with legs and faces. One person acts disgusted while Technophile replies, "Don't mind the fresh meat. That's just a costume we make them wear for their first few days until they've proven themselves."
2) Technophile saying he's making a new banhammer, because he loaned Hazma the current one. He'll ask if anyone's seen him, and we'll cut to one or two frames of Hazma and the Destructoroid duking it out, then back to Jim hoping that the SOB is alright.
3) Geraldo Beedog broadcasting a report on the Destructoroid's rampage. The joke writes itself.
Also, to advance the story a bit more, someone (Technophile, Marty... some random mod, or hell, a commenter on this post who happens to have a picture of themself somewhere on D-toid) should mention that the Destructoroid is being controlled via the airwaves, but since the broadcast isn't coming from Destructoid City, they can't trace it. Have someone quip it could be coming from Miami for all we know, then have Jim think about, then dismiss the idea that Tom Jackson is behind all of this.

Take it to the forums meng.

I really lol's at the play on "Goodwill" as "Good Will's". Also Valve game references.

I'm a go ahead and resubmit an old(albeit modified) suggestion of mine that could fit here too.

=====================

The scene opens with an enraged Tom Jackson yelling at his monitor because the Destructortoid is too busy screwing around back at the subway, and has completely ignored the RetroforceGO crew as they made their way into Good Will's. It can be seen on the moniter that the Destructortoid is being kept occupied by Hamza, the Failcast crew, and the zombies(cuz Ashley wouldn't know that the zombies are allies).

TJ:"NO, DON'T SMASH THAT!!! SMASH THE GOOD WILL'S!!! GO AFTER THEM, NOT MY ZOMBIES!!! ARGH, THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR LETTING SOMEONE ELSE CONTROL THAT MACHINE!!!"

Tom turns to Niero, who is smirking and chuckling at Toms rage and the hiccups in his plan.

TJ: "Looks like I'll have to deal with this in a more 'hands on' way then. Unfortunately for you, I can't leave you here while I'm gone. I'm pretty sure they won't like that I'm doing this so soon, but the circumstance calls for it."

Niero: "And who is this 'they'?"

Suddenly, Niero's helmet can be seen behind Tom, but not the same helmet we all know and love, but a warped one, modified for an evil purpose, the lights glowing a strange yellow color as opposed to the normal red color.

Niero: "MY HELMET!? WHAT DID YOU DO TO IT!?"

TJ: "Oh, I don't think I need to answer any of your questions."

Suddenly, a large beam of light is shot from the eyes of the helmet, hitting Neiro, digitizing him and transporting him to an awful place. A digital world where only the most terrible spirits of gaming worst game's exist. A place that exists solely to turn those who enjoy games into those who fear them.

Niero: "What tha- NOOOOOOOO!!!!"

TJ: "I wonder how long you of all people will last in there. Oh, and please say hello to the president for me in while you're in there."

Tom hands the modified Destructoid Helmet to a servant ninja.

"You know who to take the Dimensional Terror Offense Instigation Digitizer to. He'll be able to make the adjustments neccessary based on the test subjects currently in there."

Tom turns to the rest of his ninja army.

"Squads 1,2 and 3. You will attack Good Will's. Make sure no one leaves that building. Do not engage them inside. As soon as the Destructortoid makes it's move onto Good Will's, you will all withdraw and reqroup at Meeting point 'X'. Squad 4, you'll be taking care of the current handlers. They aren't needed any more. Oh, and don't be afraid to use the secondary Digitizer in the control device either."

Tom turns back to his moniter with a sinister grin, and cracks his knuckles as the ninjas all proceed with their given orders.

"Now then, lets activate the advanced systems."

As they walk deeper and deeper into the Forum, they see such forumgoers as Poopface Morty, Serpentish, Banj, etc. all working at machines, trying to figure out the robot's weakness. While going through a tour of the Forum, they come across "CTZ", and they're all relieved to see he's doing well, but Chad is suspicious.

CTZ isn't talking at all, and he doesn't respond to Chad's suggestions that dolphins are superior to sharks, so Chad thinks "CTZ" is actually a spambot that made its way into the Forums. But no one believes him. Or everyone believes him, and Technophile ejects him from the Forum.

By pushing a button that says "BAN" and having his chair shoot him through the roof as he yells "BUY SOME VIAGRA ONLY $5.99!" trailing off.

Technophile concedes that he needs the time to find the Dreamcast, under the piles of junk he has, but before he can find one, the store is attacked by spambots disguised as Fresh Meat. In order to buy time, Technophile unleashes the forum team, all of whom are Team Fortress 2 classes (I hearby volunteer myself for the demoman. Who else would you use?!?).

The forum team leap to the defence of the store, wiping the Fresh Meat spambots out. Once they're all defeated, the pyro forum team member takes off her mask to reveal the pyro class is a woman!!! It's Riot Monster!!! Well I' suppose we've solved that mystery.

This page is just gorgeous. This and the first HAWP page have been my two absolute favorites.

I would make plot suggestions, but it seems like you know where you're going next. I just hope for my face in the crowd. (Yay, the Forums!) That would be killer.

Oh, one thing though: Don't kill Tom Jackson. I think Jack Thompson would get too much of a "see, I told you so" out of that one. Simply stripped of his power and proven wrong and sent on his way would be nice. <3
