The Daily Hotness: Moos Joos Oatmeal Milk Stout
There was a huge sale going down at my local liquor store and I thought it'd be a great time to pick up some local microbrews. After looking around a bit, I settled on a case of "Moo Joos Oatmeal Milk Stout". Head was a rich golden brown that lingered for awhile. Nose is nice and smooth with hints of cream and coffee. Consistency is thick for a milk stout, but it doesn't have the same the weight of such a dark beer. Taste is a bit all over the place. I noticed several different sets each time I took a sip. Usually, however, it was aggressively sweet with a hint of light-roasted coffee. I'm still a bit on the fence about whether it's too much. On the one hand, it's a really interesting experience to have such a sweet beer that's so rich and dark, but on the other, it almost loses what makes a stout a stout. I'd definitely give this my full recommendation if you are still trying to explore the world of dark beers, but veterans may be a bit put-off. 7/10 Destructoid Original: News: Did you know?
