Neat? Might be the understatement of the year. All I hope is that he can minimize damages. A lot of people said that this was the big election, that this was the one that would that would have the biggest impact on the future. Well, that election was actually 4 years ago. We fucked that up, and now this guy is in for a hell of a tough job.

Well the Secret Service did foil the plot of those two Neo-Nazis, so hopefully they'll do it time and time again.

@ Samit-

Likewise. I remember watching Kerry shred Bush in the debates, and knowing all the heat Bush was getting for his performance and decisions...then I watch as he wins the election and I just felt amazed and ashamed. This is a nice step forward, although McCain wasn't nearly as bad as Bush, so I'm still puzzled by what happened 4 years ago. My guess is Kerry just didn't mobilize voters like Obama did.

Wrong. People don't get assassinated anymore. George Bush would be long dead were this not the case.

Well it's not like the US has a good track record with young, charismatic presidents with an amazing speaking ability talking about changing the established order.

I'm just glad I don't have to hear about it anymore. Now I just need the self congratulatory back patting over racial awareness to end. It got so bad on the news stations that I ended up switching to the BBC for the results.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
