I love all kinds, but I've recently developed a real taste for IPAs. There's something about the bitter yet refreshing taste that hits the same spot black iced coffee does. A good IPA is guaranteed to give me a second wind at night.

Sounds great man. Was traveling through Oregon a couple months back and had some awesome stuff at the Portland Beer Festival. Pale Ales and IPAS mostly but there was this wicked Cream Ale that caught me off guard and quickly became my favorite of the show.
Hmm, that looks like something worth trying out. Have you tried Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout? Very good. Drinks like a meal.
Left Hand Milk Stout is great. As timtheterrible mentioned, have some Old Rasputin. Also very good, to me, is Bell's Kalamazoo Stout and Double Cream Stout, Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, Brooklyn Chocolate Stout, and Terrapin's Coffee-Oatmeal Stout (aka Wake-N-Bake). Can't go wrong with any of them.

Kalamazoo stout is the bomb! I'm a Porter man myself, but those are damn good. Anything by Bells is just damn good really.

Give Keegan's Mother's Milk Stout a try, you won't be disappointed. Silky-smooth coffee and chocolate notes with pretty much no bitterness to it.
I have never tasted an American ale of any kind which was tolerable. I'd love to be proven wrong, but eh. May have to look in to some of these.

If you get a chance to try the Milk Stout Nitro (or even better, Milk Stout from a nitrogen tap), definitely do that. It's amazing.
Samuel smiths imperial stout is prolly my fave. Slightly lower abv than most (somewhere around 7% abv) imperials, but its damn tasty and silky smooth. I prefer the imperial over the oatmeal/milk stouts.
Oh yeah, I do love the stouts. Very fond of porters, too. We both home-brew, and we kinda split the year into the summer & winter beers... and stouts figure heavily for the winter. So warm and toasty!
