Is it bad that I want to rub the clothes Chad was wearing last night at the Nerdcore party all over myself? Justine Joli is my favorite pornstar ever and I, OF ALL PEOPLE, was not at the Nerdcore event. Yes, I was crying a lot last night.
Nick picks five character skins that would be great in the new Prince of Persia, the Mega Man movie trailer is epic, Burnout Paradise continues to get awesome DLC, and plenty more happened on 11/21/08.

Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
FANTASTIC!
"Hi, Brandon! It's so good to see you this morning! Would you like to share some of my Skittles for breakfast?"
(from the next room) "BLOODY HELL! Who in the pish is screaming at 7 blooy a.m!"
frontpaged again. Keep your porn out of my video games, please.
I understand that video games are a typically male pastime but it seems to be that game designers and gamers alike would like to see more women involved. Why is it then that, rather than welcoming women into a community that is potentially intimidating to newcomers, we ostracize them through continued objectification? Where the other Left 4 Dead characters get creatively written analyses, Zoey is reduced to her breasts. Rather than talking about the games they produce, any post about UbiSoft invariably centres around Jade Raymond, the sole reason being that she has "bewbs." Sure, I understand the basic biological imperative that drives us to reproduce, and how we perceive certain physical attributes as representative of reproductive viability, and blah blah blah evolutionary psychology, but I don't understand why it's acceptable to deny anyone their humanity and reduce them to a single (or very limited set of) attribute(s). We are more than our instinct. Just as we have come far enough technologically to make incredibly complex pieces of software to run on incredibly complex machines, I can only hope that we've come far enough to have interactions beyond the four Fs (feed, fight, flee, f...ornicate).
What irks me the most is how accepted this is in this community. Please, show some respect. Women are more than their bodies and I can only hope that the present values of this community shift as female gamers become more and more mainstream. Maybe, one day, a female gamer will be able to game with others and be treated simply as such. A gamer. Nobody trying to chat her up or trade "pixx" or going nuts over the fact that she has a profile picture posted. Just a person playing a game, enjoying it in the company of others. That would be nice, wouldn't it?
Also, boobs.
DQC: You make a very good point about Ms. Joli's occupation and the objectification inherent in it. Her decisions are her own and I'm in no position to criticize her for them. Your points concerning unrealistic male stereotypes are just as valid. There are very similar patterns and they are just as prolific as those seen in female characters. Whether or not people enjoy "Jell-O-bounce tits" is not my issue; you're free to enjoy whatever you like without my hassling you. My gripe here is with the mainstreaming of such preferences and how they are forced onto gamers such as myself, potentially working to corrupt our realistic perspectives. My original post my have sounded prescriptive and I apologize for that.
In standing by what you believe and what you enjoy, especially in the face of challenges to those, you only strengthen your character. As long as you know the reasons for your beliefs and can find the validity in them, I can't take issue with you. My concerns with the article are my own and I, as anyone commenting here, merely wanted to express my opinion.
Thanks for the discussion.
Would the Nerdcore coverage be focused on awesome tittage if Justine Joli wasn't there with her top off, straddling people? Probably not. Half-naked geek/porn star chicks tend to garner this type of response. If she'd remained fully-clothed (like other women at the event) then I seriously doubt she would be all that sexualized in the article.
Let's put it this way: if Chad was walking around naked at the event then I'm sure he would have been perceived differently as well.
