In all honesty, I didn't see any big guns from Microsoft. The only thing that I personally think is noteworthy that'll be good in the long-term is MGS, which isn't an exclusive. It's still good for Microsoft, no doubt, I'm not saying it isn't. I just didn't see anything else that interested me personally.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I found the first day of E3 2009 kinda boring.

it's a matter of opinion. I personally think they didn't bring out the GAMES, but I am sure there's millions of people who thinks microsoft had a good conference.
I am kinda disappointed... I don't think I'll be getting any of the exclusives or use any of the new features except xbox tall.

No its not just you, I was really hoping for MS to define themselves as something other than the me too console.Sony's pushing technology and the boundary's of gaming limits, Nintendo is offering innovation (quality is questionable) and I wanted MS to go here's were we stand, here's our mark on the gaming industry, but it didn't happen.Just a bunch of sequels I knew were coming with no real improvements outside the its a sequel enhancements.

Guess the 360 is on the backburner another year in my house.

Ah well, I may as well go against the grain and say Microsoft had a really good conference. From a business point of view they have shown quite a lot to pull n more of the casual market but at the same time satisfying the 'core market - something we have all wanted Ninty to do for ages. From a gaming point of view it's the same, Splinter Cell, Forza, CoD, Halo, MGS, Alan Wake, FF etc There was something for everyone in some shape or form. I think some peoples problem is not looking at it objectively, instead focusing on what they like and blinkering out the rest. I mean from a technological standpoint the NETAL (?) was amazing but has been written off by many as shit for the kids or just shit! Anyway looking forward to watching the other 2 big conferences today, especially Ninty because Microsoft gave them a beating yesterday. Hoping for something good from Sony too. Still all to play for but MS came out fighting big time

I thought Microsoft's conference was okay, not really 'good'. EA's conference was very well done, IMHO, the best so far. Ubisoft would have done much better job if they spent more time on showing the games off (like they did for Red Steel 2) instead of having speakers talk a lot. Though, Pele was great to see on stage.

In my opinion they did not have a successfull press conference because they did not persuade me to purchase an xbox. Now if they had a segment saying we have solved all of the current problems that the 360 suffers from, ie hardware failures, then I would purchase one. I honestly don't understand why people still support such iresponsability and neglagence. I want an xbox but as a consumer I cannot bring myself to purchase such shite. There use to be a day where companies were proud of there products. Microsoft just throws celebrities at you and hopes that you get hypnotized by all the third party company they have purchased. Just honor your product, thats all I ask. Cause I freaking want one.

@Tha Meat: Spell check or don't use big words you don't know how to spell.

Now, onto your actual point? Yeah, their hardware sucks ass compared to others, so if you're tight on money and can afford only one console, get the console you prefer with the games you like the most. Otherwise, really, even RRoD shouldn't prevent you from enjoying some of the good exclusives and XBLA for online gaming. Heck, even I own one and I rarely use it over my PS3 since I'm not into online multiplayer gaming unless it's an MMO.

@ The Meat

My veiw exactly, a couple of the things they've said today have made me think, "damn, should I go against everything i believe and get an Xbox too?" but then I'm still against paying for some broken piece of hardware and i really don't agree with them buying up all the exclusive deals, DLC deals and screwing over the competition, nor will i be paying for an online gaming service.

As you say, they throw money, gimmiks and celebrities at their market and hope that they fool enough people into buying their broken system.

I'm not going to be biting.

You seem a pretty well informed guy, any chance you know where I can catch the Ninty and Sony conferences live? Stuck at work at the moment and no time to look :)

I thought Microsofts conference was overall above average. Problem was, there were no surprises games wise except for MGS Rising. Everyone seemed to know splinter cell, alan wake, l4d2 and crackdown were going to be announced. The gameplay footage shown of splinter cell and alan wake were great but that was it! MGS Rising had one craptastic teaser with no gameplay footage which makes me wonder how many years do we have to wait for its release and Natal sounds great but it is an add on. I wish it luck but by the time it comes out, will there be actual games for it or a bunch of mini-games?And will it be a consumer hit or failure?

I can only hope for nintendo and sony's conferences to show off more games with actual gameplay footage and less FMV.

Milo seems pretty cool if not freaky, and the Natal seems like a logical technological upgrade from the Wii's motion controls. And the games announced for the 360 are exciting as hell. I don't understand why you guys are bitching about. Is Microsoft not making enough money? Are they not defining themselves? Are they lacking in technology?

Nearly all the games had in game footage, I'm confused as to which conference you were watching?!
And what is everyones deal with wanting to be surprised, in this day and age keeping anything a surprise is almost impossible and besides we are not fucking children...PEEK-A-BOO!

@Kris S: G4TV. I've DVRed all of their shows this week. If you wait a bit, they'll have them on GameTrailers near the end of the week as well. GameSpot/IGN also had live feeds of the console conferences, might be able to find those still on the site. Not sure how they are handling the developer conferences.

@Tha Meat: No problem, guy. Every idiot needs to be told every once in a while they're an idiot just so they know. For you, you need to be told that you shouldn't be using words you can't spell or if you don't know how to use a spell checker/dictionary. I'm just here to prevent any unintentional ignorance, glad I could help.
