The Conduit is a game that every Wii owner should be watching very closely, especially fans of the FPS genre. The trailer above shows off an amazing amount of gameplay elements, but also seems to answer the burning question – does it mechanically work? In short, it appears the answer is yes. Take notice of the assortment of weapons, the blood clouds emanating from victims, that weird glowing sphere (as a puzzle device) and the smooth movements of the reticule.

While most will be unable to forget that burning ache in their loins that Red Steel left in its wake, we can’t help but to get excited over this footage. The Conduit is also sporting some pretty hefty monsters. Large enemies seem to be the all rage anymore.

Another trailer is available after the break. Aside from the industry clamor, it shows a decent amount of footage of the game in action. After checking these out, I’m pretty stoked about the title. How are you guys feeling?

Not really interested in this one sad to say. A little too much like every other space FPS i've ever played.

This is an old trailer. It's said how a small time developer's first-time FPS has outshone all the big players like Activision, Ubisoft and EA.

@ SovietMudkipz

Close. It's two "e"s.

This game reminds me of Perfect Dark for the N64 (in a good way. I'm looking forward to seeing more about it.

If this were on anything but the Wii, no one would care and the only thing anyone would be talking about is how generic and flat it looks. I anticipate a lot of "6"s and "7"s for this one.

it looks to me like this is going for a proof-of-concept sort of title (i.e., a half-decent wii FPS is possible) rather than GOTY. maybe if it's successful, someone will come along and try to make a AAA FPS.

"I'm known as Mr. Ford"

Also, looks more like Half-Life 1 or Resistance than Halo.

Halo is an overrated, generic run-of0-the mill FPS in terms of its gameplay, level design, story and art direction too yet it was a pretty fun game and remains the most popular FPS on the both the original Xbox as well the 360.

The Conduit may be end up meeting a similar fate in terms of suffering from a similar "Halo" generic game design (I particularly dislike The Conduit's generic main character design which looks like it came from an art college tv commercial), but I'd be pretty happy enough if the controls meet or surpass expectations and the gameplay and level design is more clever and polished than Red Steel.Plus, it doesn't hurt that the game seems to be one of the more impressive looking third-party games on the platform.Hopefully, the music and story will offer some pleasant surprises as well.

I'm with Sharpless on this one. Gives off vibes of a 6-7 game.

I have hopes this will be a solid game. Maybe not groundbreaking, but solid none the less.

1. It's being made for the Wii because they are barely any games like it there. HVS said this was their intention months ago.

2. It's using an effects based engine, and the large textures are just being added in now.

Hmm... the indoor areas remind me of early Hitman. Perhaps just trying to capitalize on the fact there's no "hardcore" FPS on the Wii?

At least the wii controler don't totaly suck with FPS it is almost as good as a mouse. If all FPS on consoles controled as good as metroid prime 3 then console might turn into Decent FPS machines.

I rather shoot pepper mace into my eye than play any fps on ps3 or xbox 360.

Could prove that the Wii has some muscle under it's hood. It may not be the "be all, end all" of Wii Titles, but I'll be looking forward to this game.

Looking forward to this. A developer actually attempting to make something decent looking for the Wii is a good start in my book. Also, happy memories of Perfect Dark.

I'm with Cube on this... to me, 2-stick FPS blows monkey chunks. Medal of Honor on the Wii is good, just for the controls. And that is what I am looking forward to in this title, the next step in controls.

Hopefully a fixing of online play with friends as well. EA Nation for MOH is good, but I need voice. They had mention Wii Speak, so we will see.

I'll never quite understand how every other console can have "generic space shooter XXXX" and get hailed as a great game, but a Nintendo goes to get one, and the comments become "Oh no, its just a generic space shooter. That's just too bland." From all that I can see of The Conduit so far, it appears to be a top-notch game: pressing Wii hardware on graphics capabilities, 16 player online matches, voice during online matches using Wii Speak, tight and adjustable control mechanics, and a fully customizable UI. I'm very excited about The Conduit as a Wii owner. My major concern, though, is going to be online. Sega HAS to set up a system like the EA Nation for this game. MOH:H2 had great online (without voice, of course) BECAUSE of the EA Nation: no friend codes, usernames, friend lists, leaderboards, etc. If Sega doesn't push these same boundaries with The Conduit online (and voice chat WITHOUT friend codes during online matches), then it will severely cramp what High Voltage is going for with the whole concept of this game. Although, with how picky and selective HV has been in selecting a publisher, I'm hoping they stressed this with Sega before going with them.

This could be the game to own on the Wii, if it turns out well. As far as generic space shooters, I love 'em, and the Wii is severely lacking in the genre, so I'll take it without any complaint.

Can't wait to see this when its out.
Its gonna be great, even if it is very generic and boring looking it'll atleast look good, be esay to pick up and start playing, plus be atleast somewhat fun.
Thats the worst case scenario in my view.
