The Burnout Paradise 'Cops and Robbers Pack' gets priced photo

This is my last post about the "Cops and Robbers Pack" for Burnout Paradise, I swear! The downloadable content has been priced recently (and dated a while back, actually), which is kind of important.

Look, I'm no angel, but doing a bunch of news posts about something only to cease talking about it at the very end would be a total dick move, and that's not how we roll ... usually. The "Cops and Robbers" DLC will be up on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Network starting on April 30, and it's going to cost you 800 MS Points/$9.99.

With one new mode and 33 Paradise City Police Department cruisers, I'm not entirely sure what to think about the pricing. From the outside, it doesn't seem like a whole lot of content, but a great amount of work was put into giving the familiar Burnout Paradise rides a police-style makeover, and the Cops and Robbers mode could have more longevity than I'm giving it credit for.

Perhaps this is one of those scenarios where you need to wait it out and see what your friends think before taking the plunge.

Your last sentence pretty much summed up my thoughts.

Still too damn expensive. Why are Criterion insisting on putting their DLC at a higher price (combined) to that of the actual Game (even the Ultimate Box)?

I'm glad they graced us with free updates to finish the game into what it was intended to be (nearly a year after release), but a little lower priced DLC would make buying 4 fantasy cars, or a Hot-Seat mode easier on the conscience.

No pricing for the computer? Oh well, it might be free for the Burnout PC Players. I know when you bought The Ultimate Box you got every other DLC for free.

Even though it's 33 cars and an extra mode, that still isn't enough to justify ten dollars. But it's either that, or wait until it's free sometimes six months from now when it won't be relelvant anymore, so pick your poison.

Hmmm. The joy of Pursuit mode in Burnout 2 was in large part due to the excellent design of the tracks. Marked man in paradise city was fun but with all humans not so sure it'll be that different in feel to the normal multiplay. Hmmm.
I guess your last sentence pretty much sums up my feelings too.

Also pricey.

Yeesh, talke about pricey, 10 bux just for a new mode? That's like the price of a indie game.

It's almost like they're trying to make back their investment for all that free content they put out. I mean, I'm behind on Burnout Paradise DLC, so I need to buy a bunch of stuff, and it all looks fine, it's just that this should be cheaper.

I wish they made a new game instead of all this DLC, but whatevs. I'm sure some people will enjoy it. Me, I'm skipping all the DLC. Want more of my money? Make another damn game. This nickel and dime bullshit for a few cars here and there is lame. But thats just me.

I'm happy they make new content but that doesn't mean I'll get anything of it. First show me why this is fun or why I need to get it.
