We haven't even see the first screenshot yet, and Peter Molyneux is starting to crank out the crap concerning Fable III. GDC is almost upon us, and it has provided the game designer with a platform to claim that his latest game will re-invent the world. So, business as usual at Lionhead!
Molyneux is preparing a lecture titled "The Complex Challenges of Intuitive Design." According to the event organizers, Molyneux will be using Fable III to demonstrate "examples of long-established game mechanics which Lionhead intends to replace with more user-friendly and modern iterations."
Considering Fable II was so simple that even Terry Schiavo could've played it, I have no idea how Molyneux and the gang have stripped down Fable III. We'll have to see, I suppose, but I can guarantee you one thing: Fable III will be nothing like Peter Molyneux says it will be. I'm long past falling for his nonsense.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Oh, people, and the stuff you do with your free time.
Really, though, when people come out and constantly pat themselves on the back about thier games like Molyneux or the people over at Quantic Dreams, Bioware and Tony Hawk tend to do, it has this interesting effect on me:
I don't buy their games.
These people just need to be a little more humble.
(1) A new Fable game is announced
(2) Concept art. The bitching begins.
(3)Peter Molyneux hypes games. The BS level reaches nearly dangerous levels from just about everyone.
(4)Peter Molyneux defends his BS with more BS.
(5) Peter Molyneux disappears.
(6) Fables is released. Some people like it. Some people don't.
(7) Allow 1-2 years and repeat.
I for one love Fable but it is by far the best thing on earth. I think if Molyneux shot his mouth off less more people would enjoy his games for what they are and stop foaming at the mouth when they see a Lionhead logo. I've always just ignored him and played the games.
First, there is no real punishment or incentive to be either good or bad.
Second, the difficult of the game is ridiculous (like my english) and third, the controls were very bad and I missed the mini-map. To find something, you have to open the menu, then open the map, then mark it just to get there. With the mini-map of the first one, I didn't remember to waste that much of time. I played the first one on the pc and just loved it, then I played the second on the 360 (like everyone ele) and just missed the keyboard for my expressions (I want to fart in front of my enemy again!). I felt kinda lost with all those sub-menus.
And I have to mention that the graphics are almost the same of the first one.
Yeah, keep talking out your ass Peter.
I wonder if people would have been more receptive to it had PM not hyped it as the second-coming of RPGs.
Also...that ending sucked balls.
Personally, Fable II was one of my favorite games last year. It was awesome. I even thought the atypical ending was kind of awesome.
End of day, I don't care what he says, the outcome will be another sweet game.
Where the fuck am I? Bizarro World?
2 months from now: "Never before have gamers had such moral choices"
3 months from now: "Don't bother buying Fable 1 or 2"
4 months from now: "Never before has a game been so complex and simple"
Release Day: "gets 8's and 9's with no mention of this Revolution"
4 months later: "I may have over stated things a bit, sorry again, but fabel 4 is gonna blow your fucking mind"
That's what happens when people who make things are put in front of a camera. People judge the creator and not the creation.
It's not nearly as bad here as it is in the music industry fortunately.
@akathatoneguy:
Hypothetical game, programmed by Zombie Hitler, where you shovel Jews into a furnace. People call it the most revolutionary and enjoyable game ever made, despite the subject material. All profit goes toward funding the Zombie Nazi war machine. Do you buy it?
I call it the Management Effect. Blank stare, insincere smile, clammy limp handshake. I know what it is because I've seen it all my adult life and I don't like it. I'll put up with it if it pays the bills, but will I give my money to a bullshitter? Hell no.
(second try...)
