I was suffering the paroxyms of book fetishist rapture last week after finally getting a gander at the Ninokuni in all its glory last week, but it seems that my day is not over yet when it comes to my hobby. As you may know, the much-awaited Mother 3 English translation project was recently completed, allowing a whole new group of RPG fans to fall in love with the highly praised game.
Now, to accompany those fans comes the unofficial Mother 3 Handbook, a beautifully bound guide including maps, statistics and some absolutely gorgeous typography. The site says that the book will be available for free download next year, but why bother with that when you can get this stunning tome for $20? It also comes with a Courage Badge keychain when you preorder. That's the deal of the week, if you ask me.

Lets just say that if this were an unlicensed, fan-made book about Darth Vader and Yoda, Gearge Lucas would be suing their asses in a heart beat.
Lucas would sue because the fan-made work would be better than anything he's thrown out recently
Mother 3 was purely incredible both as a sequel to Mother 2 and as a game in and of itself. I haven't cry as much over a game ending since... Well... Ever.
If Nintendo realy gave half a shit (which it's clear they don't) they would of C&D'd the translation which they didn't.
This begs the question; do I play the game now, or wait till the book is finished in January?
Plus playing this with a guide will bring back memories of playing Earthbound with it's free guide.
I don't usually buy stuff on the web. But THIS, I had to!
