The BIGS 2 screenshots, we have them

5:00 PM on 04.16.2009 // Samit Sarkar

Today was a historic day for baseball: the new Yankee Stadium, the most expensive sports venue ever built, had its Opening Day in a game against the Cleveland Indians. Catcher Jorge Posada christened the brand new ballpark with a home run in the fifth inning, but the bullpen couldn’t keep it close and the Yankees ended up losing, 10-2. Above, you can see a screenshot from 2K Sports’ The BIGS 2 of Yankees fireballer Joba (that’s JAH-buh) Chamberlain in his windup at Yankee Stadium.

There are seven more images in the gallery below for your viewing pleasure, featuring athletes such as the New York Mets’ José Reyes, the Tampa Bay Rays’ Evan Longoria, and Torii Hunter from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (check out that catch!). There’s also one shot taken from Become a Legend, which is the game’s career mode where you create your own player.

If these screens excite you, then I’m happy to let you know that The BIGS 2 will be out for PS3, 360, Wii, PS2, and PSP on July 7th, and that Prince Fielder of the Milwaukee Brewers will be on the cover. Hit up the game’s Web site for more details.
