The Behemoth has finally revealed the name and premise for its long-awaited Xbox Live Arcade game. The follow-up to Castle Crashers has now officially been named, and we all now know to look forward to BattleBlock Theater!
Having shipwrecked on a mysterious island you find yourself both betrayed by your best friend Hatty and captured by the locals. All of this is happening while being forced into deadly performances. This however, is just the start of your problems.
BattleBlock Theater is our upcoming third title for the Xbox Live Arcade. Website to follow in the next few days and as we inch closer to the release of the title we’ll be unfolding more of the story online.
Check out the official debut trailer and let us know what you think. This is looking to be a pretty hot one, with typical Behemoth humor and some rather awesome looking gameplay. Very much looking forward to it -- here's hoping there won't be any online issues that Microsoft takes ten years to patch this time!

Meet the rest of the team
Behemoth usually scores pretty high on style and this doesn't disappoint in that regard. I'd be interested to see if there was any kind of substantive story beyond the framing device.
Game looks epic. To tell you the truth it wasn't that much fun when I played it at PAX, the controlls weren't very responsive, and the modes weren't that much fun.
The trailer looks amazing though, I have high hopes.
I'm curious for more details as to how the whole theatre aspect works into things, but I do like that the simple, block-based level structure practically screams Built-In Level Editor. Sure, I may be too lazy to edit much myself, but it's great to see games like this supporting user-created content.
At leat the trailer, The Behemoth i's a greta studio and for sure Dan Paladin as been doing a great work wth the art in this, we should keep an eye. Both.
definitely looks like a more cartoonish version of super smash bros.. but still looks like it can be tremendously fun.. i wasn't a huge fan of alien hominid, but castle crashers was amazingly fun
This looks nice, but any info on Castle Crashers on PSN? There hasn't been any news since the initial announcement. This makes me madder than a midget with a yo-yo!
Generally anything from Behemoth means good news and lots of awesome. This is no exception. Loved both AH and CC (got my Green Knight signed by Dan Paladin himself!) and I can't wait to see what they do with BattleBlock Theater. The simple block-styled platforming looks like it could lend itself really well to a lot of different things.
pretty cool looking and all... but they still haven't followed through with their promise of castle crashers on PSN soooooooooo I can hardly care about this.
I guess that I was expecting more depth due to how well they pulled off Castle Crashers. This trailer makes me a lot less interested in what appears to be a game composed of strictly multiplayer minigames. I guess it's still better than Alien Homonid and I'll definitely give it a shot (should it ever come to PSN), but this trailer just makes me want to play Castle Crashers and not this game.

The trailer looks amazing though, I have high hopes.
Controls aren't worthy of the XBL points I've been saving?
Whoever discovered that chanting battle music makes everything more epic should be making millions of dollars by now.

I loved the ending of that vid.
brava Behemoth you did it again
The music in this game better be about as epic as these trailers. The betrayal of Hatty seems like serious business.
Still probably gonna get it though.
