Nerdcore music-making just got cooler, as demonstrated by DJ Shift. Using Wiimotes as Bluetooth controllers and typical DJ software, he was able to program macro hotkeys via GlovePie.  This is the same application that has allowed other Wii-to-PC applications like the Half-Life 2 demo that made waves earlier this year. Want to try this? Steal all of his secrets and start getting all the chicks by reading www.djwiij.com

We feel responsible in also noting that "Flickstarting" only looks cool when it's pitch black and you can't see white boys doing the stiff-hip headbob. The video is also a cautionary tale -- do not attempt this with Salt n' Pepa. Despite the unfortunate choice of noise, it is effective. If look closely at the monitor you can see the reflection of Nintendo shareholders breakdancing on their foreheads.

All jokes aside, it is fascinating to see just how much people love the Wiimote and are jonesing to replace age-old control schemes with it. What do you think -- is this a fleeting trend or did Nintendo create a revolution after all? Is your little soul crying to get up off your seat and wail your arms whenever possible?

Niero what's this guy's e-mail, so I can ask how to be cool like him?

Also, if Summa made this post, your comment (which I like and agree with) "is this a fleeting trend or did Nintendo create a revolution after all?"

Im pretty sure Summa would've said something like : "fuck nintendo".

Ok Im done.

Summa drinks are on me.

Nah, it would've been something more like, "Does this secondary adoption of the Wii-Mote spell the end for Nintendo's new console? Most likely people are running out of interesting things to do with the console and are desperate to justify their impulse buy!"

----
And yes, I know I suck at the Multiplayer, Snaileb. Thanks for not kicking me the second I accidentally PK'd someone with the Troika.

I did manage to clear Act 2 last night on Hardcore though, so the evening wasn't a total washout for me.

And Summa, we kid because we love...

to hate...

to not love...

After all, where would the Weekly World News be without Batboy and Osama Bin Laden's adopted monkey baby?

Does it seem to anyone else that nothing he did acutally had much of an effect on the song?

But how can someone with a name like DJ !(pronounced shift-one) not be kooler than skool?

It is a pretty nifty mod though. I love all of these wii hacks, truly. I'm strongly considering getting a bluetooth adapter and making some games for it myself. That'd probably be a few months down the line, though.

The wiimote kicks ass. Of course its never going to have the accuracy of analog sticks or dpads or the mouse, but that's alright because it's motion controls, button layout, rumble, and wireless capability make up for that to create a fun way to interact with software.

I fail to see how this 'shows the beginning of the end of the Wii because people don't want to use the wiimote for its original use'. That's retarded logic
