As the avalanche of new and exclusive trailers continues to roll down from Mt. VGA, we have a look at The Amazing Spider-Man which you can enjoy. It's Spider-Man, doing what a spider can, which apparently involves giant robots. Everybody loves fighting giant robots, right?
A reboot of a licensed game series, the source material itself a reboot. It's like those Russian dolls.

Meet the rest of the team
I think the movie deals a little with Osborn too.
Either way, I love Spidey, so I'll try out the game. I still hate the costume and the fact that he wears sneakers with it. :-/
What Sir Legendhead said. I was thrilled to see the area in which the robot battle occurs, it looks quite open with lots of room for web-slinging. That little bit looks promising to me....so far.
I used to own Spiderman everything. When I was a kid I even had the giant doll with the velcro hands. The kid in me is instantly interested in all Spiderman games. I have high hopes.
I just want them to use the exact swing mechanics from web of shadows. Seriously that game was terrible but the swinging was so fun I poured a bajillion hours into it. Hell it was so fun I went after the collect gloat item achievements as an excuse to swing more.
looks nice, but it just Spidey swinging around. I'll reserve my criticism for when we have more then that, specifically when gameplay previews start trickling in.
Based on this, yeah I think this will be the first Spidey game I'd buy in a long time (Huge fan, he's even on my calf), but without anything else, like an indication that this isn't more then just another crap movie-tie in, I can't say I'm running out to preorder anything just yet.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Havnt seen those since I watched the cartoon
I'll pay attention for NOW Activision. For now.
Im sorry but robots? They could not have given 1 glimpse of a actual villain? Other then that it looked alright!
If this is as much like Spidey 2 as it looks, then I'm interested. And I agree with masterninja...where's the villains at?
