The Amazing Spider-Man game premiere at Spike VGAs photo

Activision and Beenox's The Amazing Spider-Man will be shared with the world for the first time through an exclusive trailer to be shown during Spike TV’s Video Game Awards, airing live on Saturday, December 10 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

As you'd guess, this game is tied to the summer 2012 release of the movie of the same name, and will be released at about the same time. The game will serve as an epilogue story occurring after the events of the movie, and will take place in New York City.

There's a little teaser on the game's official webpage, but you'll have to wait for the Spike VGA's for the real deal.

Are you down for a new Spider-Man?

Activision + Spider-Man + Movie game = Going to be pretty forgettable.

I think we all just need to accept that Spiderman 2 the game was a fluke.

No amount of previews can make me support the VGAs with my viewership.

Lets hope "at the time" doesn't mean "Weeks before" if this game is actually supposed to hook to the back end of the movie.. A lot of fanboi's are gonna be pissed if they get shit spoiled (I'm one, but spoilers never really bug me -how you see it is almost always different from how various people explain it, even in the context of a video game)

Okay, forgetting all the hater noobs above me, if its Beenox making it then I'm interested. Haven't played Edge of Time, but Shattered Dimensions was amazing so I'm excited to see how this turns out.

I saw the Comiccon teaser that I think was "in-game footage", looked a little interesting I will admit.

NO! I am not down for another Spiderman! Do we really need a new Spiderman game EVERY DAMN YEAR? Activision obviously thinks Spiderman is the new CoD or Guitar Hero and will flood the market with games until everyone is disgusted and they decide no wants the games anymore and kill off the franchise like they did with Guitar Hero. Idiots. This is what happens when short sighted, short term max profit suits interested only in their Wall Street stock price run your game company, folks.

Well Beenox has proven that they can make a pretty decent Spider-Man game but I doubt they ill be able to do much with this since they prob had like 4 months to work on it.

Im still hopeful that one day we will get a triple a spider-man game but Im doubtful it will ever happen.

Game aside, I don't even think there was a need to reboot the spiderman movie. Spiderman 3 came out what, 3 or 4 years ago? Is it really necessary to start over so soon. Batman did it better by spacing it out. And the gap is even further when you don't count the kilmer/clooney batman films. Cause let's face it; keatons batman on a bad day>kilmer/clooney batman on their best day. Bale batman is somewhere in between

I can't believe Treyarch made the 2 best Spider-Man games (Spider-Man 2 & Ultimate Spider-Man) but they're stuck making CoD games.

Meanwhile Beenox (whose "stellar" track includes Bee Movie Game and the Monsters vs. Aliens movie game) gets to be the "premier" Spider-Man game developer. Where's the justice?

Shattered Dimensions is an underrated gem. Edge of Time sucks ass though. beenox knows more of the franchise than Treyarch, actually. so i fully support their excapades.

@Epic:

"Shattered Dimensions is an underrated gem."

Yeah. The DS version.

HI-YOOOO!

Really though, the DS version is better than all the other versions. Credit Griptonite for that one, not Beenox.

let's give the game a chance shall we. especially given the snippets related to development of this game. it dewfinitely looks promising with return of openworld gameplay.

Agreed on multiple accounts -- Shattered Dimensions DS is the best. And I wish Treyarch stuck with Spidey and not riding Infinity Ward's COD coattails.

@SephirothX:

I'm pretty sure Activision made Treyarch develop CoD games. It's not their fault. At least I hope not. If Treyarch willingly asked to develop the CoD games, then they're idiots.

I'll play any Spider-Man game released. I'm a fan, even of the terrible ones (I own every Spidey game released) but I will say the MOVIE looks God-awful. As a huge Spider-fan, no, they don't need to reboot it only 4 years after (the admitted mess of) Spider-Man 3. However, this new flick looks like "'The Amazing Spider-Man': From The Producers of 'Twilight', Sponsored by Nike." I mean, have you SEEN that new outfit? And this looks MORE emo than 3! GAH!

Sorry...nerd rage...

I still want to give this a chance (You never know), but I fnd myself leaning in the "This is going to be bad" direction based on the last few Spiderman games :(

Prove me wrong Beenox, for the love of Spiderman, please prove me wrong.
