PSP owners may be feeling sad that they've missed out on at least seventeen firmware updates since the PlayStation Network went down, but do not despair!
Sony has confirmed that update 6.39 is coming soon, and you're all invited to the update party. Hallelujah!
The main point of the update is to allow users to reset their passwords, although it also includes "system software stability" improvements. Mostly however, it gives you the opportunity to sit and watch the PSP slowly updating itself, after demanding that you charge it for an hour because the battery died while it was switched off.
The good times are back!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
*Goes back to playing Monster Hunter.
(Nice thing about PSP updates is that they're optional, sure you need the latest one to play the latest games, but if you're playing an old game you can just ignore it)
The logic goes backward with this comment. o.O
@Asjr
How does the supposed homophobe comment relate.
Nah, probably not.
Who's crying?
Do Sony fans have no sense of humor? Like, at all? It's as if Sony is like miscarriages to them. You just DO NOT joke about them, or you'll go to videogame Hell.
Most can take a joke. Fanboys cant get emotional and have fragile states of mind.
go dig up some new info about saints row 3. need more input!
Oh, and @asjr13: "so much Sony bashing, jims a homophobe" I bash Sony all the time and I'm gay. Does that make me self-hating? Does it make Sony gay? Should I... should I be hitting on Sony!?
...what's that? Rapture's not until Oct. 21? Well, chuck a shuckle.
I still can't get on PSN store =(

Isn't that true of updates on all systems, though? Even on the PS3, the only time you actually have to update is if you want to login to the PS Store (or related apps) or play online...

Yeah.. because THAT guy is the face of all people who like Sony.....
This site is getting so bad about that. Some random guy makes some comment and people seem to think that one guy represents a massive amount of people. But I only seem to see that shit here and in Youtube comments. Being anything like Youtube comments is not where you want to be.
Remember when everyone wouldn't shut the fuck up about the royal wedding? Yeah, it feels like that right about now.
The way Sterling replied after only one real negative comment does make this article feel like a troll attempt, as though he were lurking in the wings for the first chance to stir things up. I'm just kind of burned out on writers who consciously flamebait, so I don't much care what he types anymore.
So... youre saying Sony is gay?
Lol why not? Judging by the comments its like most of the Dtoid readers are "lurking in the wings" waiting to jump on anything Jim and troll it, especially Sony fanboys and Witcher 2 fans. Theres nothing wrong with appealing to your reader base.
I see what you did there.
