I will get it in the HD collection. If I had a fancy3DTV it would do the same, with dual analogs on the go.
It's very dissapointing you had a conflicting experience with this port because that game is truly incredible.

I'm really hoping that this comes with some cool unannounced extras/easter eggs. At least something to replace Ape Escape. I'm getting the HD collection but I'll end up getting this as well since I love the game so much.
Undecided at this point. Likely getting the HD Collection regardless, however, and not sure if I could live with myself, having bought 3 copies of essentially the same game.
With Metal Gear Solid Collection HD coming to the Vita, it's a no-brainer which version to get. This game or this plus two more with trophy support, probably better graphics, online support for Peace Walker and two natural analog sticks.
That seems like a fair appraisal of the games weaknesses and strengths. Nice preview, Hamza. :-) My principle problem with MGS3 3D is they've brought out the superior HD collection on PS3 with more games, better visuals and dual analogue control. Also when it was 1st shown, they showed the game on 3DS with overhauled graphics that looked a lot prettier than what it looks like now, as it essentially looks like a port with a hud/map moved to the bottom.

I have all the original games still so my intrest is only in having handheld versions. That being said, the Vita version is way more appealing.
Does the 3DS version offer the original camera from MGS3 with the Subsistence camera option? I mean that's the only way I'd play it without a second analog stick.

Putting a second analog in consoles was the worst idea ever. It gave developers the perfect excuse to avoid programming a decent camera system, relying in the player to fix shit that should never break in the first place.
So now we're doomed to live in this vicious cycle forever, with people bitching about not having a second analog that 90% of the time wasn't needed in first place.

Vita or not my problem is in all the screens I've seen of the "HD" ports of this, it's only slight color corrections and a higher display resolution, I've yet to see the textures get any real love, which I can get the same effect for 2 on the pc. I'll be picking this up on my 3ds, and maybe my Vita, when they've been out for a year or two.
HD Collection is going to cannibalize the 3DS version's sales. I really don't know why they did this. It would be like releasing the original Resident Evil game on the DS, with new features and extras, obviously a lot of hard work put into it, and the original was a classic, then at the same time releasing the Gamecube remake version in HD with trophy/achievement support and nothing else. Even if more work was put in the 3DS version, most people would just go buy the better looking, better playing version. I would have waiting quite a bit before stripping a system of a potential system seller.
No longer getting this, because it's become evident I'm getting ripped off. I disagree that the 3DS needed a second circle pad. Yeah people complained about the PSP, but they're two completely different systems. If Nintendo's going to succeed the're going to have to do something different then the competition.
I've been knowing it's faults for some time now, I forgot were I read/watched a preview but it complained about the controls and the frame rate dropping, with that said this version will obviously be the inferior version to ALL of them, but because of my need to get every game from the series, I will undoubtedly get this.
This was the game that made me say "well now I must get a 3ds" before launch. The fact that they are putting these remakes out so close to each other is one that makes the 3ds version pointless to those who will have more consoles than the 3ds.

i will say two things,
a.better the addon with a AAA than an extra battery with cables that vita will have!!!
b. BRING BACK THE THUMBSTRAP DAMNIT!!! yes that one that came with the original DS.
made the lower screen feel like a mouse pad!!! AND it allowed you to wold your device properly!!!
it was so cool that people with DSLite and DSi have STOLEN it from me 3 times!!!
ok i will say three, 3DS textures of MGS look pathetically low res NO GAME on 3ds that i have seen so far has so pathetic textures, not even MGS on gamecube by silicon knights had so pathetic textures (but then again SK was awesome on GC) and 3ds has better shading and lighting than wii!! So it actually is the 3d effect that makes it look decent!! Konami really dumped their crap on nintendo wholeheartedly! and although i really wanted to buy that game.. i am definitely NOT going too. ok. over and out because i said too much! :)

Yeah, I said the same thing to my friend. The 3DS one was cool at first, but an HD version would be that much better.
What I REALLY want to hear is if it plays more like Peace Walker than the original Snake Eater. I HATE Peace Walker for making MGS more action oriented. At least Snake Eater doesn't have the horrible plot and very underused characters of Peace Walker.
If MGS 3D has over the shoulder aiming (it does) and crouching (I don't know), then I consider this an easier version of the original and therefore inferior. I probably will skip this over and just buy the MGS HD Collection for Vita.
