TGS: Tentacles-on with GalGun

TGS: Tentacles-on with GalGun photo

I had to give GalGun a spin as soon as I saw the trailer. This is an on-rails shooter by Alchemist (Xbox 360) that has you pushing back horny girls with a love gun. Unlike those on-rails zombie games where you're in danger of getting mauled if you miss, you only need to worry about crazed girls tackling you.

You're actually shooting your man-heat around school as girls dive at you, blushing, holding down their skirts, and jamming love confessions in your face. They come from everywhere, popping out of trashcans and around corners, dashing at you in hopes of touching your irresistible body. What's funny is that you'll aim your love beam at specific zones on their bodies. Want to fire your love at their chests? Go for it. They'll blush, squeal and then fall over.

There's a firing mode where you can pull in the right trigger to select a girl for more...focused firing. You'll control creepy zooming and turning as you fire concentrated man-heat at crotches, backsides, breasts and whatever else needs taming in a fully rotate-able mode that was fairly embarassing to play in public. At least they gave me an artcard featuring some of the in-game girls for my efforts.

The demo's climax finds you in a boss battle, saving a schoolgirl that has been captured by a tentacle-ish monster of sorts. You'll aim your love at the points where the girl is bound by the tentacles, and then blast your manliness directly into the beast's mouth when he's vulnerable.

An on-rails shooter of love with tentacles and crotch shots? What took 'em so long? We seriously doubt that this Xbox 360 title is ever coming to the west.

Well, they're just enforcing age-old japanese stereotypes, aren't they?

Who cares? I'm loving this game already.

I wonder what happens if you choose to NOT save the girl from the tentacles?

Sir Hattington. Me too, me too.

Having watched the odd bit of Japanese-tentacle-rape-hentai I am rather curious to see what happens if you let the tentacles get their own way!

Those tentacles and their rapey ways.

This wouldve made so much since in 08' on the Wii. Nowadays people are kinda burnt out on on-rail shooters.

This is the video game equivalent of huffing glue.

I can dig that.

I love colorful, girlie variations on shmups (Parodius, Cotton, Twinkle Star Sprites) - it's about damn time the same thing was done for the rail-shooter genre.

Just needs a light gun and a reasonable price tag, and I'd be all over this. Unfortunately, I'm pretty damn sure this'll never leave Japan.

Eh, this actually sounds kind of lame. But I do appreciate that you're writing stories about games that would likely have gone overlooked! You at least get credit for that.
