Looks like the Tekken series is going into complete global saturation mode. First Street Fighter Vs. Tekken, then Tekken Vs. Street Fighter, and now Tekken Tag 2. I thought that Tekken VS. Street Fighter was supposed to be the de facto Tekken Tag 2. Looks like I was wrong.
That was the big announcement from tonight's Super Battle Opera, the big fighting game tourney from here in Tokyo. Speaking of being in Tokyo, it's totally awesome. I think I know where there's an arcade with a Yun and Yang enabled Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade cabinet. We're heading out there tomorrow. I'll do my best to get you a hands-on report.

Meet the rest of the team
T3 and TTT were the height of my Tekken playing experience, and boy, did I play the hell out of both of those. I still own and play 5 & 6 (skipped 4), but I gotta say, 3 planned Tekken games might be a bit much. Here's hoping they can keep it fresh, as the series has been getting a bit stale, even for a Tekken fan like myself.
I want this so badly. TTT was the reason I bought a PS2 and it's one of the few PS2 titles I still own even after my PS2 bricked ages ago. Tekken 3 was pretty much the first video game of any type that I ever got really into to the point where I began learning moves properly instead of button mashing and I've always enjoyed the series since, even the ''bad'' recent ones. I hope that TTT2 will be on the 360 but it's the sort of game that would make me go out and buy a PS3 if it turns out to be even just a timed exclusive
Also, there are two Tekken titles on the way, not three. Tekken vs Street Fighter is a Tekken game with Street Fighter charaters, but Street Fighter vs Tekken is a Street Fighter game with Tekken characters. The latter is not, at its core, a Tekken game. That's my perception at least.
FUCK YES I'm a huge tekken fan this is great news I even liked tekken 6 which everybody thinks sucks I wonder does this mean long forgotten characters will make a return does anyone here remember gon? :)
Well, it's about DAMN TIME they brought back the Tekken game that alot of people were asking for. God, I remember getting Tekken Tag for my PS2 that I bought off of a friend when the PS2 and Tekken Tag first came out. Played the HELL out of TT. I even participated in a local arcade tournament for the arcade version, lol. I used to play the Tekken Bowling mini-game (hope that returns) with friends and family a lot too. Awesome times, can't wait for the new one!
Hansey: "If it's based on Tekken 6 it can fuck right off."
@Hansey
I have to agree with that. I didn't like the excessive juggling (ground bounce, etc.) that was added in Tekken 6, it made matches too "one sided" and that Scenario Campaign mode in the home versions was awful. Hopefully they'll tone down the juggling and put in a mode more like Virtua Fighter 4 Evo and 5's Quest Mode, but I wouldn't count on it.
@sprldr Fuck yeah Ogre. It's a shme they never relaly went anywhere with him before. He was a more interesting prospect than the devil gene or that Jinpachi bullshit.
That said, most of all I'd like to see Unknown return and explained.
YESSSSS. Bring back Tekken Ball and Tekken Bowling too. I want a fun mini game not some "Devil Within" garbage or Tekken transposed to a 3D side scroller.
Also, Tekken 5 is objectively better than Tekken 3.
The original TTT was one of the most juggle-heavy Tekken games evar. Yes, T6 does have a few characters that are guilty of over-long juggling, but TTT had quite a few as well. At least they toned down the damage for the home release.
