At Sony's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference today, Sony announced a new PS3 system that is even more slim than the current PS3 Slim. The PS3 Slim Slim?
Sony says that they've reviewed the entire structure and came up with a new design that is half the size and weight of the original PS3, and 25 percent lighter and thinner than the current system. The system will be offered in black and white colors.
The pricing is the same as the currently available system, but the storage size increases from 160GB and 320GB configurations to 250GB ($269) and 500GB ($299). North American availability begins on September 25 for the smaller system, with the larger following on October 30.
Europe gets a special 12GB flash memory configuration on October 12, priced at 229 Euro.
