Whoever is playing that is terrible. Also, sucks we don't get MGS1, I was looking forward to that. Oh well.
MGS3 Subsistence came with MG, MG2, boss battle mode, cutscene viewer, and even a wacky set of videos that replaced characters in cutscenes - that is as long as they're including the content from the second disc.
I'm still totally bummed this doesn't include Portable Ops! =(

Frowny face is right! I'd love to have the original Metal Gear on PSN. And as part of a games collection I could much more easily justify paying for it.
They should have released Twin Snakes as part of this collection, that would have been badass. Oh well.
I'd much rather have the US release than the Japanese. Of course, I already have two copies of MGS on PSOne. Maybe I'm biased.
Oooooo...Substance, and Subsistence!! I haven't played either version. Just the plain Jane releases so there's a bonus for me.

Man, the guy playing this is awful. The game looks good in HD though, but damn that player.
Kinda sucks that we aren't getting a voucher for the first MGS, guess I'll have to buy that one myself before this comes out. I'll use it to judge if I want this game or not.

For those of you disappointed in not getting MGS1. Just download it on PSN if you have a ps3... as for xbox 360 users... ask kojima nicely?

Again, I understand the desire to have it all, but I would totally choose the western alternative here.
Also, why would downloading MGS help you to judge the collection? Not only is it somewhat different than later entries, but it's also not in Hd.

I've never played a MGS game so I'm not sure if I want the whole collection. Thus I will try the first game.

I already have substance and subsistence but this is just too good to pass up. It would be awesome if they included portable ops but its already a pretty hefty package so it's more than understandable
@Hamza: if the US collection has disc two of MGS 3: Subsistence then it has the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. If it doesn't feature that content, like MGS: The Essential Collection doesn't, then we won't likely get them. I am under the impression that us Americans will get them as well.

Just to confirm to everyone, METAL GEAR SOLID (Metal Gear 3) is NOT included in this collection, but METAL GEAR and METAL GEAR 2: SOLID SNAKE (Not Metal Gear Solid 2) are included thanks to MGS 3

Again... what does that have to do with SONY? This is a Konami game going to multiple platforms. A deal for Twin Snakes would be between Konami and Nintendo. SONY has nothing to do with it. :P

See Adam's comment above yours. When the Essential Collection came out, we did NOT get MG1 or MG2, but we did get Solid 3: Subsistence. We're pretty sure the US is getting MG1 and MG2 in this new HD collection, but it's not guaranteed yet. Japan is already getting more stuff in their package than we are.

im just glad we're getting the substance and subsistence version of the games(hopefully they'll include Disc 2 of subsistence since it has a secret theater with movies like MGS Snake Eraser, and the rock paper scissors thing with The Boss and others, as well as Boss Survival mode)
i also hope for the Disc 3 of Subsistence to appear, i mean you have enough space to include everything so why not put it also?
Disc 3 features all the cutscenes from MGS3, all you have to do is watch and it'll play everything from start to finish :P
you can even control the cutscenes yourself just like the main game. so expect some tons of easter eggs :P
though i wonder why they didn't put the ability to crawl in Peace Walker. i mean it's a sneaking game of course you need that feature.
another thing is that according to dale's preview of peace walker. you are only limited to 6 players when it comes to multiplayer. i wonder why didn't they up the cap???
then again if people can play with PSP/Vita and the PS3 versions all together i can see why they limit the cap. still no biggie but it would be nice if they improve it on the console versions.
also it seems MGS3 Snake Eater 3D has an ability to crouch walk in the game, don't know why they didn't implement this on MGS3. then again people would probably complain(i think the crouch walk is a good thing)

I have every metal feat game. Yeah I can play mg1 on my ps1 but damn the man I want mg1 in hd. Ill probably buy this collection in a couple of months (might be a price drop) but if mg1hd was in this bad boy it would have been a day one buy with a smile on me face.
If I think about it too hard, I will rage, cry, and explode. I will now commence shutting up, and being happy.

Also, the reason we're never going to see a Twin Snakes rerelease on a non-Nintendo platform is because Nintendo worked with Konami on the rerelease. Disappointing but true. If you want it in HD, you'll have to us Dolphin and a good computer.
