Only problem is just how abusable that would be from hacked PSPs.

TGS: PSP on Vita: 500+ titles, UMD program possible
Gamers have been dying to know about how Vita will support older PSP titles, and at today's Sony TGS press conference they cleared some things up. First off, there will be somewhere between 500-600 titles that will work with the Vita as just about all of the current PSP downloadable games on the PlayStation Network are compatible. These games can be enjoyed with the dual analog sticks and fancy OLED screen. Those considering dumping all their UMD titles should hold off for a bit as Sony says that they're considering some kind of program to offer special download versions as replacements. No other details were given. More official plans will be revealed in the near future, so stay tuned. Did you know? Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I've realised that the Vita will only be one MGS4 away from having every single Meal Gear Solid available on it... No one will care about backward compatibility 6 months after launch. That's why Sony won't do a trade-in program. Getting Trophies for Vita games but not PSP games will also result in speedy lack of caring. ah yes.. that PSN Plus membership and over 50+ PSone and Minis that should work from day one. :) def am pre-ordering me a PSV 3G It can still act as a PS3 controller/screen, right? Even if it was "nothing but ports", I'd still want it for that reason alone. But it's not; it will have plenty of new and unique games. An official app that can dump your UMD games to your PSP's flashdisk while tagging them as "yours" would be pretty much perfect.
Only problem is just how abusable that would be from hacked PSPs. The only games I am concerned about are the Lumines series, Crisis Core, a FIXED VERSION of Final Fantasy Tactics Lion War (which the iPhone and iPad BOTH have or will have), and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. The others I have on my PSP go, or PSP slim- if I could get rid of all of them for a Vita with my games on it, I would be happy. But for some reason, Kingdom Hearts is not on the PSN store (because Disney is against that license, maybe a re release for the Vita? The Final Mix *Please? Disney? Are you listening??*) and I find it odd that Crisis Core or the Lion War is not on PSN in bug free states... Lumines or a version of it would be nice too for the Vita, yet nothing is announced that I know of... and there is licensing issues with this game as well... If they all came out on the Vita, I would gladly dump my PSP and PSPgo. @sofik88
