PLEASE be as good as Suikoden V. I had given up on any more Suikoden games after Tiekreis (bleh), now my hopes are raised again.
... PSP hasn't had any games localized for about half a year now. Sony's a lot more willing to support a lost cause than Nintendo is, but there are limits.
Hopefully this game is set in Harmonia...or maybe Armes, why not?
Or they go super prequel and crack out the Ancient Armes Dynasty or the Sindar?
I guess we will know soon...
Yeah when i read the comments, i noticed Gavaya from Suikoden 5 and Orange Army you referenced from jowy in SII, you're cool in my books!
Hey, why don't you go and fuck yourself.
The series is incomplete and needs to be finished. I hope to God that it plays like a real Suikoden; I hope it is part of the main series.
But he's kind of right...it died when Tierkreis was released. The only reason Suikoden V was as good as it was is because it was written by the writer of Skies of Arcadia.
I do hope it's closer to the older Suikoden's than Tierkreis, simply because I like seeing that world develop, but if it is another Tierkreis I'm not necessarily against it, assuming they make the proper improvements. Tierkreis still felt very Suikoden, despite how much it lost from the main series. Just bring back war battles and 1on1 duels and give me a protagonist that isn't annoying and I'll be happy.
As wonderful as the Suikoden series is, they're all very hit-or-miss.

Feel free to go back to GameFAQs now, children.
My next favorite is III (Opening song amazingness),then II,I and then IV.Also,I loved Tierkreis for what it was,a solid spin off of the series.
Suikoden I and II are true RPG classics, and I put them in the same class as Final Fantasy VI. The story, the characters, the concept, it was all incredible. The Suikoden world has an epic scale that is incredibly rare in videogames.
Suikoden III was love-or-hate. A lot of purists hated that it was somewhat different in presentation, but I absolutely loved it. It told the story of four protagonists rather than just one, and had some fantastic characters.
Suikoden IV was an unfinished mess.
Suikoden V was good, but I'd never recommend it as a first stop in the series. It did open slowly, with a lot of intrigue type stuff, which made it somewhat different from the first three. It certainly had nothing to match the insanity of Luca Blight from Suikoden II, one of the best videogame villains ever.
Screw Gavaya it's all about Shoon and lady sexy Sialeeds, until Sialeeds left my party :**(, the story and music were phenomenal! The vs battle system was so heavy!
Oh hell no,you just didn't diss the Gavs, son!!
But seriously,I always made a team full of random but interesting characters,SV is hardly the pinnacle of difficulty so you can survive with anyone...even with a team headed by Gavaya and Josephine.Shoon is pretty awesome too,I had him in one of my earlier playthroughs...Sialeeds made me sad though :(
When an individual accuses another of being a child on the internet I often wonder how old that person is. Also, it is incredibly ironic that you were admonishing me for being childish and then you proceeded to make a condescending and childish remark.
Got to love hypocrisy...
Honestly though, instead of making comments about my age (which you clearly don't know) why don't you just be the guy that challenges me to a fight over the internet. Both are equally silly and foolish things to do. Neither proves anything.
Also, I understand your disdain for the "slow start" in Suikoden 5; it is a story heavy game and it wastes time with things like character development and plot. What exactly were you expecting?
