Well, new to him at any rate. Capcom has released two gameplay trailers for Tokyo Game Show which have a focus on moves that Spencer can perform with his bionic arm in the upcoming Bionic Commando ReArmed 2. A couple of them, such as a circular whip motion and ground pound, will probably be familiar to those who played the 3D Bionic Commando from last year.

A really useful move is shown quite a bit in the second video below. Spencer can apparently just plow barrels out of the way with his robo-fist instead of having to pick them up and throw them if they're in his path. It's really cool. The only thing I'll warn you about is that this second trailer has one of the most painful re-interpretations of the Bionic Commando theme I've ever heard. Headache-inducing, even.

... but they both had the exact same version of the song. Which I think is pretty awesome. Sounds like they got Simon Viklund back. But yeah, I'm just excited for this stuff in general. Loved the first and this looks pretty cool. Hope it's all efficiently functional and stuff, this isn't a game I'd like to have to execute very specific commands for in order to do certain special techniques.

People played the 3D one? God that looked awful to me. Seriously has anyone played it? I normally don't judge a book by it's cover, but I'm tired of my fond memories being crapped
on.

I played it... and liked it too. The storyline is ridiculous and not in a good way... but I liked the gameplay itself. Awesome music and if you can get Spencer's original costume everything is somehow better off because of it. It may take some time to get used to the controls but if played right... and if you can make it all "click" in your head then you can pull off some amazing things. Some people seem to hate it while others love it... but overall I feel it deserves a much better reputation then it has. Was definitely worth the 10 bucks I payed for it anyway.

Yeah! The elusive Capcom Yashichi are back! Sweet. So far, so good. The music, although very cool, does have a slightly strange grating effect on my ears.
I'm one of the few who, through its faults, had a lot of fun with the 3D Bionic Commando from last year. I'm honestly just a Bionic Commando fiend, so I'll be highly anticipating this release.
Man, I still love the sound of that classic Capcom logo! I miss Konami's old logo sound from the SNES days. When I heard that sound I knew I was about to play a quality title. =`(

I have to say the 3D bionic commando is no where near being as bad as people make it sound. The swing mechanic and gameplay was pretty fun, can't say much about MP though since I never played it.
Seriously for the 10 bucks it costs now everyone should try it out.

Can't wait for this game! :D It's everything awesome about the Bionic Commando series, just with 100% less wife arm and 100% more awesome mustache, and it's great to hear Simon Viklund's working on the music with this one too :D love it!

This should have just been a 5 minutes video of him jumping straight up and down.

No kidding. I like the soundtrack for the first game, but that is awful.

bluemeep: He was originally called "Ladd Spencer" on the NES. He was renamed 'Nathan "Rad" Spencer' in Rearmed. So "Rad" is "What they call him now".
