I purchased a 3DS for my girlfriend a while back. Since you can do local co-op between the 3DS and the Wii U, I will get both copies for this purpose and for being able to play on the go.
I'm gonna have to buy a Wii U just because of Monster Hunter. I feel so ashamed to do it but I love Monster Hunter so hard that it has become an addiction. I don't want rehab either, I just want more Monster Hunter.
Whats scary about buying two copies of the same game at the same time? Developers/publishers have been doing this for years now.
Will it finally have real online play? Or is Capcom still ignoring the only serious issue with Monster Hunter in America?

So I have never played a Monster Hunter for any extended period of time. However the concept has always appealed to me, apart from the co-op part. I am oddly very excited for this.
I might just get both versions eventually, but definitely getting it for the Wii-U, later on I might get it for the 3DS, just for that sweet, sweet Transfaring.
Wait, it's coming to North America? Excellent! I've been wanting to give the Monster Hunter series a real try and was irritated when 3G wasn't coming here. I guess this makes up for it.
I'll go for the 3DS version, since I'm still debating wether I purchase a Wii U or not and that MH4 is going to have on line so this could be an indicator that this could be published outside of japan since online has not a been a great factor on most of the handheld MH games on japan.

Monster hunter is coming out for the ios (maybe android, doubt it tho...) how impossible is it to play on the psp? how impossible is it to play with touch screen controls? If you put those 2 things together this thing will be as successful as monster hunter is going to get and the ios is its downfall.. All of this is a cash in on the popularity of the consoles and looking back it makes me sad to think I ever supported Capcom in the first place.

It will be the WII-U version for me : better visuals, probably better controls ( second analog stick, touche screen-menu) and most important online capabilities.

I'm mainly wondering if the WiiU version has current-gen graphics? Or if it's basically equivalent to Tri running at 1080p in an emulator?

I hope Nintendo doesn't get a pass and has the implement a cross buy situation with games like these. I just want a game where I hunt giant monsters. Weird how vita gets one of those first in the U.S> before capcom bothers to release it.
I'm already preparing my wallet for the $100 Monster Hunter game. That's how I'm looking at it. $100 for Monster Hunter wherever and however the hell I want to play it. If anything, it's a bargain! :D
Shame I can't get my Wii save transferred, but oh well. I was honestly worried that Capcom had given up on Monster Hunter in the west. That said, their lack of even semi-decent tutorials and craptastic online setup for Tri really make the games hard to get into. Unless, of course, you're playing local co-op with an experienced friend who can solve both of those problems.
Also hoping that the mics supported by this game will actually work properly (lookin' at you Wii Speak) and that the game will allow for actual patching rather than just turning content on the disc on and off.

Props to Nintendo for locking this up. Sony would have had a fucking field day if they got a CrossPlay version of MH3 for Vita.
