[Update] We've added a new trailer for The Last Guardian for you to salivate over.
[Original Story] We've all been waiting for what seems like an eternity to play Team ICO's latest, The Last Guardian. And the wait is going to continue. At Sony's Tokyo Game Show press conference, a release window of "Holiday 2011" was announced.
About god damned time. I generally expect games from this development group to be among the best experiences I have in a console generation. Right about now, nothing short of a masterpiece is going to justify how long this feels to have taken.

Meet the rest of the team
Nothing short of a masterpiece? It's Team Ico, you're talking about. Even if Shadow of the Colossus was more visceral and actioney than Ico, it was still fucking brilliant.
Amazing. That music makes it sound a lot more lighthearted than everyone's expecting it to be, which introduces the possibility that the ending won't make us all sob at the death of our feathery gryphon friend. Wishful thinking, I know.
that thing looks so realistic...uh...just....wow...this is what I bought a PS3 for in the first place....kinda dissapointed it's a ways out, but take as much time as you need, team ico.....if more companies did, there would be better games and the used game market would not be on the hot seat right now.
I keep thinking that eponymous guardian is actually the kid, and he's a ghost, deity or something, there's just something odd in the way his clothing flutters and the overall lighting on him compared to everything else in the game.

Really? It was announced at E3 2009, which wasn't that long ago.
I'm actually glad Team Ico takes their time, thanks.
I'd bet the music is to create the illusion of peace and ease... just to smite us down on our sobbing arses in the end.
High expectations for a video game never results in disappointment!
But I know it'll be worth the wait. Day1 for me.
