Little Big Planet is probably one of the best example of how user-created content can work well on consoles, and this LittleBigPlanet 2 trailer makes it clear this trend is continuing. Dramatically improved graphics, a host of control updates including a grappling hook, AI controlled followers, and what appear to be directly controllable vehicles suggest that LittleBigPlanet 2 has a lot to offer to those interested in world/level building.

Check out this trailer, and see what you think.

Am I the only one who feels maybe the company behind it gets lazy and instead of giving us alot of levels, they just phone it in and let the users create more shit? I guess 50 is alot of levels, sure but next to the thousands of created stages? Maybe they are planning DLC story levels? I dunno, maybe I'm picky or something. Still already preordered it because the first was alot of fun. Not as much fun as New Super Mario Bros or Brawl or Castle Crashers but still fun.

The 1st LBP was revolutionary. I loved it. More of a construction kit than a typical game, yet the story levels were pretty fucking fun too.

this looks to blow it completely out of the water yet again and I for one am super stoked.

Colin, it is a lot harder to create a great level editor than it is to just create levels. And like you said, 50 is a lot of levels, so I'm not really sure whether you are accusing MM of laziness or not.

I wouldn't buy this without story missions. I never found a user created level in the first one that was as good as any of the MM levels.

That being said, 50 is a lot. :)

@Colin: Did you even watch the trailer? It's highlighting how many new features and how the game "create" portion of the game has been completely expanded while retaining backward compatibility. This release looks awesome and amazing, IMHO (like LPB1).
