TGS: First look at Dead Space: Extraction on PlayStation photo

In Tokyo of all places, Electronic Arts and Visceral Games gave us the first glimpse of what Dead Space: Extraction looks like on the PlayStation 3.

As a Wii port, it looks unsurprisingly cleaner and sharper than on Nintendo's console, with visuals "remastered" for high definition. Extraction will support cooperative play for two PlayStation Move controllers; what was demoed in Tokyo played nearly identical to the game that was released on the Wii last year. No Move controllers? No worries - the game will support both DualShock 3 and SIXAXIS controllers as well.

Extraction will ship on the same Blu-ray disc that Dead Space 2 Limited Edition does when it ships next year; it's currently exclusive to PlayStation 3.

I might pick up move for this. I played it on the wii and had a great time. The graphics were among the best I've seen on the wii, and with an HD bump this game might finally find an audience.

Wow! This looks good. Can't wait to play it with the Move. It being an exclusive for the Playstation 3 is a big plus for gamers to have more games with Move support.

Doesn't dead space 2 have move support too? Might just get that, what with it being less onrailsy.

LOL looks exactly the same as the first Extraction by screenshots. With HDMI output it should look a bit brighter, but not much difference compared to the Wii version via component cable.

I'd say people would rather be playing Dead Space 2 than Extraction once they get a hold of the Limited Edition PS3 version. Still I predict even the Limited Edition would sell no more than the Wii version did.

@romo

It sure does look good but I think you missed the bit where it says "wii port".
Doesn't it being multi-platform stop it from being a Sony exclusive?

I thought they were going to go the whole hog and make PS3 it sexyness and not like a piss poor Bleemcast conversion.

On the plus side, I really enjoyed Extraction while it lasted, and as an extra game thrown in you really cant complain.

Also....Romo....please stop now. Its getting silly.

Many football fans want to wear a jersey of their favorite team or player, but it can be difficult to shop for right size one. Typically, our jerseys website fits different than a normal website, so your regular shirt size might not necessarily be the same size as an NFL jersey. Using a measuring tape, it is easy to figure out what size NFL jerseys will fit you best. http://www.nfljersey-online.com

Graphics look rather bland for a next gen game, but at least it's HD. Might even be 1080p.

Also given the controller support, this will probably hit 360.

Cool I haven't actually played this on the Wii yet. If it's coming packed with DS2 I may have to move that purchase up the list.

This was one of the few Wii games I really liked. I don't really care too much about Move but I might have to get it for this.

Wait this is only for the special edition of Dead Space 2? I guess that makes me a little less jealous as a 360 owner.

However as a Wii owner, I wonder why EA, who was being whiny babies about the wii version sales, would rather give it away on PS3, than charge less than 50 dollars on the Wii.

I have this for the Wii but I'm a huge DS fanboy so i'll probably get the LE anyway, even thoug I'm not planning on picking up Move anytime soon. Does anybody know if it will all be on one disc?

'Remastered' my ass.

Look at those horrendous textures!

I was severely tempted to get the DS2 LE on the PS3 because of this extra...but seeing how it looks, I think I'll just buy the normal 360 version instead

Finally, someone else who realizes that taking a game with crappy graphics, and then making it HD, just makes the crap look smoother.

Conversely, if you are going to pass up on a full retail game, that serves as a prequel to the series, just because the graphics aren't amazing, then I'd say that's dumb.

Of course that's assuming you would have a move controler.

I was planning on getting the 360 version, just like the first game, but I'm still interested in picking up this HD Wii port. Here's hoping that there's an alternate way to get Extraction than having to pick up the PS3 limited edition - I'd gladly pay for a separate disc or a download, like they were rumored to have considered.

At first I was interested in this since I have a love affair with light gun games. However, aiming with a colored orb and not something with an actual sight on it bothers me.

@Sexualchocolate

Does your boycott of console-exclusive extras mean you won't be buying this game either? Or is it different because Extraction is technically an exclusive "game" and not "DLC"?

Just curious.
