TGS: EA announces My Garden for Nintendo 3DS photo

At its showcase in Tokyo today, Electronic Arts has announced a new title for the Nintendo 3DS called My Garden.

It's what it sounds like, a 3D simulator "inspired by nature" where players will plant and grow hundreds of flowers in their very own garden. The game will feature six environments to cultivate your flowers in, including nighttime roof, Japanese, and desert gardens.

Players will be able to explore their gardens in full 3D, even whistling into the 3DS microphone to attract birds. The game will be hosted by an adorable Tanuki (a Japanese raccoon dog), who will help amateur botanists learn to become expert gardeners. My Garden will feature photo challenges, where players will be scored on their work, unlocking new outfits for the Tanuki, including a butterfly costume.

My Garden launches globally alongside the Nintendo 3DS. Whenever that is, for now, is anyone's guess.

Couldn't really care less about a this game, but it sure does look pretty. Plus seeing it makes me think of Viva Pinata, so hopefully Microsoft lets Rare do another handheld version of the game on the 3DS, just like they did for the DS. It probably won't happen now, considering that Microsoft is going to be pushing their Windows Live phones, but you never know. Stranger things have happened!

Will this game have a zombie mode where you have to protect your garden from zombies with your flowers? Or has that been done before?

Way to go EA, the first shovelware game for 3DS. Seriously the nintendo consoles are a lot better without EA and ubisoft support, for example, in the DS the only good games that they offered were Henry Hatsworth and Might and Magic: clash of heroes respectively, yes only one game per company. And saddest part is that the guy who created Henry Hatsworth doesn't work EA anymore and that Might and Magic: clash of heroes only was published by ubisoft, being Capybara the one to say thanks for a great game.

The specs are irrelivant compared to other companies being able to examine the hardware to reverse engineer the 3D display technology. Frankly, I doubt the hardwware will tell them much other than who is making the important bits (display, video processor).
