Here's a trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 4. It's just more footage of Splash Hill Zone, so if you're bored of seeing the game's first level, you might want to skip it. Regardless, it's really cool to see the game in motion, whichever stage Sega uses.
Despite all the controversy and whining about this game, I really appreciate how beautiful it looks, and having played the game twice already, I'm fairly confident that it's gonna be a really good game.
Even if his eyes are green.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Well done Sega, well done.
I'm not complaining and I think Sonic 4 will be awesome but it just looked a little off. Can't wait for this to come out.
I'd rather see some original level designs.
Sorry but, am I wrong? It's not like this game has the most inventive level designs. Either admit that the game is a rehash and live with it, or get mad at the level designers, not me.
But by your logic, I guess you have to come with me then
I'm not crying. Trolling gamers and sonic fanboys is so easy because they just can't take differing opinions, or any sleight against their precious blue savior.
By the way I wasn't trying to troll, I just didn't like how the levels feel so similar. Jesus Christ.
You're trolling son.
Curious is there a new build of this game at TGS or are they still using the E3 build?
trolling or not, I didn't do anything wrong except state my opinion on the recurring level designs (an opinion which I'm sure others feel the same way). So if that is what passes for trolling, then maybe you shouldn't be so upset by it because you're going to see alot of trolling (differing opinions) in real life.
@epic koryuken
an opening level/ tutorial can be colorful and vibrant without being green hills with waterfalls. Yet again you get upset by the fact I pointed that out.
Anyway I'd rather not hijack this comment section any more than I horrbily have, so I'm done. Sorry to the rational people who didn't attack me for mentioning what everyone else was thinking
Join the Sonic Colors bandwagon. It has a mountain of sweets. And much less disappointment.
I'm making fun of people who are complaining that his eyes are green. I don't care what his eyes look like.
A few(dozen)missteps or even an epic sojourn in the wrong direction is no reason to back pedal all the way back to square one.
Thinking of Square one, one can only hope that the next Final Fantasy isn't about four mute guys whose classes the player selects along with a four letter name.
Of course,this will be a much better old school downloadable title than Sonic Adventure. maybe they can re-release Knuckles Chaotics or Sonic Arcade at the same time as Sonic 4's release date?
"I got tired of the 'checkered green hillside with waterfalls in the background' level design right around sonic 3."
Although that only showed up in Sonic 1 and 2, so you must've played those a lot.

You might want to play it again

And let's not forget sonic 3d blast

To be fair, I'm on the side that isn't Ilort het's.
What side would that be? I haven't really made an argument to side against. I also don't know why i've been made out to be the enemy here because pretty much all I've said that started this whole thing was that I'm tired of the level design repetition yet I've induced more rage than the westboro baptist church.
although on a completely unrelated side note, I just noticed in the trailer that sonic consistently had over 100 lives. that player must be good.
Get a fucking move on.
And the homing attack is still making the game way too easy.
@llort het
But seriously, I find your opinion valid. The thing is Sonic has to start in the Green Hill Zone or something near identical to it if its going to be a 2-D title. Its kind of like how every 2-D Mario title starts out relatively the same. It allows both old and new fans feel at home, something iconic that can be easily recalled. Its a status quo and from what I've seen the majority of Sonic fans are excited to see it back.
I think its evident Sonic 4 is made for the same group of people who ate up Megaman 9 & 10, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Klonoa, etc. You know, the nostalgic crowd (Which I am one of them). Though we all want something totally new, the franchises one grows up with are important. That's why I still pop a boner at the idea of a new Pokemon title. Not because its original, but because its familiar and fun.
However with that being said, I loved the Sonic Adventure series like whoa. Neither title started in the Green Hill Zone and it was totally fine. But I think especially with an approach at a direct sequel to the original 3, a return to the green hills and checkered walls had to happen.
Just sayin'
this game is shaping up to be good. if it plays like sonic 1-3 then i see no reason to complain. give me a good reason why it will suck or go light urself on f-eye-yah.
Man, you guys are treating llort like he's Romo. Anyone's better than Romo. The order goes: Spambot > Marcus > Romo.
