American McGee's Alice was... something. I'll admit that my memories of the game are a bit on the hazy side, but I recall being impressed with the visuals, fascinated by the take on Wonderland and a little bit disappointed by the gameplay. I think that's mostly down to the jumping.

On the first two, this trailer EA has released for Alice: Madness Returns hits the mark wonderfully. Here's to hoping that the game can deliver on the latter. In addition to the video, there are some lovely screenshots and concept art for you to view below.

I'm getting a 4-second video that just shows a logo for springboard?

Same here. Anyway. I'm pretty darn hyped for the game, since Alice's Adventures in Wonderland still roams in my personal top three of books and the dark, sick version of it suited my other needs splendidly. Or sordidly, whatever. At any rate the gameplay can take a second place again if the morbid design was kept or even improved upon. It's not like I thought it was terribad anyway.

Eeee~ I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

There are so many "old" PC properties that I really miss, some of which would lend themselves well to continuation, so this is particularly appealing to me.

I do hope they improve the combat and (gameplay-wise) the level design this time round. More effed-up AMGA craziness is good with me though. I like the sketches, and those teapot baddies look cool.

That looks amazing. Guess it's time to break down and play the first game. People have only been telling me to do that for ten years now.

Yeah... Alice was unfortunately in that era of "meh" Quake 3 engine shooters. Looked gorgeous and had an amazing style, but the platforming and combat were very meh.

I'm curious if this is a sequel, or a remake. I assume the former, as the first ends with her leaving the mental hospital having conquered her inner demons...

... frig that fight with the Queen was a pain.

@ScottyG

I actually liked the Red Queen as a boss. Dodgeable attacks (most of the time) and she looked cool. The bosses in that game were generally bitches though. Centipede remains one of the worst bosses I've ever encountered. No health bar means you've no idea that he's a weakpoint boss, and when you cave in and look it up online, you discover that you have to tempt him into rearing up so you can throw a knife at his underbelly, only to find out that he's just as likely to lower his head and do the charge attack that takes off over a third of your health, with no time to dodge because you're really close to him in an attempt to make him rear up. Endless fun.

I hope it's a sequel, as I'd like to see more of the madness. If it's just a remake, I see no reason to bother with it, as I've already experienced all the 'wow' moments.

I hope this doens't become mainstream. Mostly because all of those Tim Burton Alice fans are going to flock over this. "Hey guys did you know they're making a movie on Tim Burton's Alice!!!" "Awesome, let's buy Alice-branded shirts and pants and hoodies whoring ourselves out from Hot Topic; so everyone can know how cool we are!"

Loved the 1st Alice game and replayed it various times. I loved when I got a PC Upgrade that let me run it absolutely maxed out. The Sky effects were pretty dope as well. Controls didn't really bother me heavily. Not the best by any means, but not condemnable.

Yes Mr. Trailer, after finishing Alice 1, I too was thinking that the exact thing this game needed was more tentacle rape.

I would totally bone down on this Alice if her eyes weren't so Anime.

Am McGee's games have always been shitting terrible, though. As dull as Quake has been, and will ever be.

Also, I thought tentacle rape was a purely Japanese thing, not a Shanghai, China thing. (McGee is based there)
